Curse of Strahd Session 3
General Summary
14th of Mid-Ardent, 1736
The party encounters Morgantha, an old woman who went around the village selling what she called “dream pastries,” which she said helps with alleviating the constant depressed state of mind within the region. After Clovis and Deacon Ironfist took a bite of the pies, they began hallucinating and went numb as they dreamt of a happier place.
After a dispute about the pies, the party went to the Blood on the Vine Tavern as they meetup with Ismark the Lesser. During this time, Tastarn showed them a picture he drew of an image he saw in a vision: Strahd von Zarovich. Told about approaching spies, they hurriedly went over to the Burgomaster’s mansion to find it scratched up and with footprints around the outside. Ireena was insistent of not going anywhere without burying her father.
The party heads to the local church with the body. They find the church in a torn up state from neglect. Lights pouring everywhere to snuff out any shadows. Donavich mentions his son is in a horrid state.
Father! I’m hungry!
While in the cemetery looking around for an adequate burial spot, Timmy notices something from beyond the iron fencing of the cemetery and points it out for the party. Rushing in on horseback are three figures draped in black cloaks that billow in the wind. They make their first move heading to the Burgomaster’s mansion.
