Curse of Strahd Session 13
General Summary
Arachdra, 18th of Mid-Ardent, 1736
The Clovis and Tastarn wait out on Baba Lysaga as she feeds the goats in her pen and then heads back to her hut. After that, the two of them then cast dimension door to reach her hut and grab the gem from the winery. Doing so, however, the hut then sank and slouched into the bog awkwardly. The party then ran off up north, scrambling before Baba Lysaga could fly over to her hut.
Along the way, the party went to Vallaki but met with a complication. Some of Strahd’s cloaked guards were seen harassing caravan drivers about where Antonin Fevre could be. The party snuck by, arousing no suspicion.
Inside the town, the party discovered Infernal Clan gang violence go down as someone got shot by a tiefling being followed by two other henchmen. Tastarn infiltrated the lot and discovered they were under the orders of Saint Lorenzo. These thugs planned to eliminate Burgomaster Vallakovich’s followers starting with a caravan driver in four days.
The party made their way to the Burgomaster’s Mansion after Tastarn consulted with Fabulus in private. There, he made a deal to clean up the violence and remove Lady Wachter in exchange for loyalty. Clovis faked being the vampire Escher and intimidated him into knowing where the toy maker Blinsky is in town. Tastarn also consulted with Ivek Strazni, Vallakovich’s bodyguard and “sheriff” of Vallaki. In his room, Tastarn found countless dolls with an eerie likeness to Ireena Kolyana.
“So care to explain the dolls?”
“No! Now leave or I crush you!”
Despite the business being concluded, the party went up into the attic, wondering about flashing lights. They found a massive mess of old furniture and junk but there was a trail that lead to Victor Vallakovich’s room where he was found practicing magic. Turns out he’s an aspiring mage hoping to leave Barovia behind through the use of a teleportation circle which was horribly designed.
Tastarn offered to deal with sigils within Florenelle should he sign a deal with the Clan. The only complication is that the Nameless Host overtook the conversation.
“He’s just one man. Can’t he leave Barovia and we stay here?” ~ Tastarn”
“You believe me to be a creature of mercy? No. No one leaves this place.” ~ Nameless Host
The Host demanded that no one was to leave Barovia. He also hinted that Antonin was in Vallaki!
Uneasy, the party began bouncing and scheming ideas on what next is to be done.
