Session 3: Report

General Summary

The party deliberated a while on what to do with the caravan and the prisoners, and upon Melanthios returning after taking out a group of bandits, Luthorn and Shiro decided to take a couple horses and ride north to try and cut off the group of guards they had convinced earlier to ride off and get reinforcements. The Tortured Lands seem to be difficult terrain for the horses and after taking nearly an hour and a half to travel north they heard loud horns and elected to ride back south to warn the rest of the party.   Meanwhile the rest of the party had decided to get the prisoners off the wagons and learned they were from Ilinvur and that the city had been attacked a few days ago and that there were thousands of Sonuk that attacked. Multiple caravan drivers tried to make a run for it; Melanthios and Lazer quickly took them out, intimidating the other two drivers to stay where they were. After, partially, convincing the two riders to ride south towards Ilinvur, the party decided to scare the other wagon horses to scatter the wagons. They were mostly unsuccessful and after spending time attempting this, Luthorn and Shiro returned and warned everybody that they needed to leave quickly.   Luthorn successfully scared the horses and made them scatter while Melanthios took the free prisoners, whom were Riuke citizens, and started backtracking to Sturm after deciding not to go back to Ilinvur. After making it a half mile or so away from the road, Beaksy (Luthorn’s familiar) saw what looked like hundreds of mounted combatants back at the road and that multiple search parties were being sent every which way to search for the wagons.   After making it just a hour and a half shy of Sturm, the party came under attack by a group of Gnolls being lead by a Gnoll Pack Lord. The Gnolls dealt heavy damage to the party nearly killing Luthron and Shiro but then some guards from Sturm showed up and provided reinforcements.
