Act 1 - Chapter 2 - Drowned Men Tell No Tales - Report

General Summary

The Hunters, bolstered by their initial success, come to the aid of Aoife and Saoirse, plagued by a predator in the Fjords that connect the Quarry to the Sea. Initially, it's unclear what's happening, as a sailor simply vanished from the Sister's ship one night, and since then the waters have become misty, cold, and more difficult to traverse. Without much else to go on, the Hunters jump right into the fray, and join the Sisters as they sail through the Fjords one evening. The group is soon beset by unnaturally cold waters and a pervasive fog that severely obscures all sight, and upon readying themselves for whatever threat may come, the Hunters are ambushed by a pair of malicious corpses that burst from the water and try to drag them under.   With Aoife and Saoirse piloting the ship, Tyrus dives in to take the threat head on, and the others support from the deck of the small vessel. Yet, when the undead try to drown Tyrus and reach for others on board, the group frantically works to destroy these Draugr, these vengeful Drowned Dead. The Hunters emerge victorious, and learn what they can from the corpses, recalling some ghost stories recounting what may have transpired.   Following the trail of the Draugr, the Hunters soon find the remains of a half-submerged vessel, decayed and rotten over ages. Gus prepares bombs to destroy the vessel, and hopefully put an end to the problem. The bombs are a partial success, as they destroy much of the remaining ghost ship and harm some Draugr that were hiding in the wreckage, but the undead still emerge to fight the group.   After a harrowing encounter with the Hunters doing their best to avoid being drowned by the Dead Men, they successfully destroy the last of the Draugr and scour the wreckage for more clues. Over the next few days, they take the time to give the sailors their proper last rites, and lay the curse to rest, putting an end to the troubles plaguing the Fjords.
