Session 6B - Brothers on the run

General Summary

After splitting with Goliath and Nermo, River and Milo made their way deep into the forest, Milo recognizing that his brother could not travel any further, hid the camp as best he could, and setup alarms and traps around it, in the hopes of waking up before anyone made it to them. Then fell asleep after tending River as he could.   In the morning, he went scouting around and recognizing that they needed to move or they would be found, they headed off to Nanxi, travelling for the day. They arrived at the town just as evening fell.   To get into the town, River revealed something of his nature, as he cast a spell enabling himself and Milo to fly over the wall. They promptly were almost spotted by a group of guards. After getting over the walls, they were rounding a corner after disguising themselves as homeless people, Milo, "Thinking quickly", decided to shit himself and stumble around as if drunk, inciting the guards to leave him alone, meanwhile, River was hidden in the corner ready to leap to his aid if needed.   After that close call they were able to make it to Rivers safe house without further incident.   When they arrived there were three troopers stationed inside his home, they were quickly dispatched, except one, that Milo interrogated before murdering him.   River having fallen unconscious again, was given a bit of time to rest, before Milo woke him worried about more troops arriving. River showed Milo his actual safe house, and then passed out again. Milo was then able to get River up to the safe house, and trashed the apartment, to make it look like there was a struggle, they then rested for a few days, allowing River to get his strength back.   Trying to find Goliath and Nermo, River and Milo decided to try and find someone of rank that they could ask about Milo's friends. They invaded a temple, disguised as guards they talked to the First, and found that the friends had not been captured yet, and last seen had been headed out to the ocean. They sowed a little confusion, by throwing a senior commander under suspicion of acting outside the bounds of a senior leader.   They left the Temple, and headed to the bookstore that Belak's journal had been left with, attempting to retrieve that. When they got there Milo attempted to sneak up on Ellira the bookkeeper, and was surprised himself by her casting a spell on him, causing him to freeze in place. As she tried to escape she was caught by troopers who had broken in to search for River and Milo. They successfully bluffed there way to be able to interrogate the woman on their own, whereupon River revealed himself to her, and she seeming to know him well, agreed to help them escape. They went to the roof, where she started a teleportation spell, before completing Milo and River took note that there were different kinds of troops starting to crawl onto the rooftops to find them, the troops noticing them just as the flash of light and the completion of the spell.
