Session 3: Choose Your Own Adventure Report

General Summary

Date: The Month of Lun 21st, 997.   Morning Activities:   The adventurers wake to find their hinges missing, along with these people and locations: Mary Woo, Sam Cook, Annie Willow, David Wells, Vern Peterson, Perrin, Beth, Marin, Tof, General Store, Magic Shoppe, and the Inn.   Bush Lee is guarding the Flactus bush till it can be given to Sam.     New Adventurer rolls into Town: Zorrin - he heads to the inn and gets a bunked room with 9 other adventurers for 5cp - chats a bit with Poppy about hinges   Perrin does a walk about the town, noting hinges missing in multiple places. Goes to the Sheriff's office and they ask for help finding the thief as both Marcus and Don have a large plate trying to get ready for the farmers market. - Perrin also relayed the information of the half a body found nearby in some caves.     Encounters:  

Zorrin - Reverend Iliad approached Zorrin wildly and asks if he have faith, or more likely a message for the gods or demons. The reverend has a strong connection to the supernatural. Zorrin passes along this message to the Sun Goddess Ahovz, he talks about the 7 gifts needed to follow, his intention to follow, to get on her good side, and a quick way to get around the trials, and Reverend Iliad growing frantic asks for a quick message for the goddess before the connection fades to which Zorrin replied, "Hi, love you, bye." - Beth, Mary, and Perrin were all witness to this bizarre show from the Reverend. This acquaints the new adventurer in town with Perrin, and Zorrin spills his life story.

Perrin - While conversing with Zorrin, Ellion appears and asks for his hand. Perrin simply puts out his hand and Ellion reads his palm. Good luck, no love life, not going to die young, fortune teller mumbojumbo and leaves as quickly as they came.

Marin - While chatting with the group in front of the inn, Nicoletta tugs on Marin's dress. Asking if she has seen Isaac because she needs to deliver a medical kit for his broken nose. Beth notes that she saw him earlier in the day in the pasture with his father. Nicoletta thanks them and runs off.

Beth - Caleb ran into Beth in front of the inn, he says a brief sorry and keeps running.

    Session Main Quest Line:   11am   Perrin starts investigating with Zorrin about the hinges, go to the inn and talk with Poppy. She was sound asleep when the thief came, but some adventurers may have been awake.   Perrin lets Sam know they have the bush and they will get it to him later. Sam then informs Perrin and Zorrin about a gross piece of cloth that was stuck in the splintered corner of his door, he tossed it in the trash behind the inn.   Zorrin and Perrin get a meal together and chat. Beth joins them shortly after as Mary went home for the day after school ended early. Naomi takes their orders costing 3sp for Beth and Perrin getting basic meals, and 2sp for Zorrin getting some tasty pertaters. They sit and chat a bit. Zorrin tries to talk about his grandpapi? gets cut off, and Beth talks about her theories on airborne fog? in relation to the hinges.   12pm   Perrin goes and talks to the Mayor, some of her flowers were trampled, but she did not hear anything in the night, nor did Shibi. Perrin goes back to the Mayor's house to check on things, sees the trampled flowers but sees nothing else of detail. He then, uh, goes about other business leaving the investigation for the others.   Zorrin and Beth go to the Peterson's to ask them what they say. Isaac and Vern are working in the fields. Isaac got up at about 3:30am because he heard his cows having a cow. Saw a short - 5ft ish - hobblily figure with blobbish hair leaving the area. Could have been an old person, or a limb.   Zorrin and Beth then return to the inn to investigate adventurers. Zorrin sees a few 5ft people inside. Talks to Takla a human man with a bushy beard with a wide gait. He's hard of hearing and insulted Zorrin would talk to him. Zorrin then goes and speaks to Flynn, a elven man with blonde locks and a confident strut. He states he is too old to pull pranks and walks away. No luck finding the culprit.   1pm   Marin returns from her Earth demon pilgrimage to the mountains. Tells Zorrin and Beth that she saw a clear bare footprint outside of her house.   The group thinks for awhile and decide to investigate Gilbert Strong as a suspect due to their central location in town. At the Strong home Agnus opens the door. She calls Gilbert over. Agnus says the turned in early for the night. Zorrin then asks if there is anyone in town that Gilbert can think of that is old, 5ft tall, and hobbily, that may live in the corner of town, to which Gilbert replies Liam. Marin tries to talk and ask some more questions, but Gilbert slowly closes the door to Agnus' protest. Agnus invites Marin over for dinner sometime through the door.   Since the group is going to check on Liam, Marin decides to stop and home and get her raisin and almond cookies (have with more, half with less) to bring as a 'peace' offering.   They get to the edge of Liam Jenkin's property, the fence around his house has barbed wire and has metal things poking out everywhere. The moment Marin tries to put her leg over the gate Liam immediately yells for her to get off his property. Marin keeps approaching with Zorrin behind her, Beth staying at the gate.   Liam pokes his head up in his window to keep telling them to leave, he slowly shows one gun in his hand. More talking. They get closer. He slowly shows the other gun in his other hand. Marin casts fog cloud, but not before Beth and Zorrin see a hinge float into the air. The fog then covers the view. The sound of a metal hinge hitting the ground is heard and Liam Jenkins' shoots his gun yelling 'DEMONS'!   More metal clanging can be heard and Liam continues to shoot rounds into the sky, one bullet goes through the window shattering it. Beth goes to get the sheriff.   Marin goes for the door realizing there are no hinges on it either, she pulls the door down and enters. Liam is in the corner of the room holding his guns, shouting more and more about demons. There are hinges scattered all about the floor, on tables, in a bowl with a spoon, just everywhere. Another hinge floats into the air, Zorrin intervenes and shoots through the air, the hinge drops. Marin uses entangle on the spot where the hinge was, it curls up in the air touching nothing but air.   Liam drops his guns, and Marin tries to get him to talk about the hinges and he denies it. She gets real close and Jenkins puts his arms up saying he confesses to taking the hinges. Raving about liars and he stole hinges from those who have secrets, who tell lies.   Liam drops some knowledge he has on Marin, he confesses to breaking into her house for the cookie recipe cause he likes the cookies but not Marin.   Beth returns with Marcus, who is very disappointed in Liam but if everything gets returned and Marin won't press charges they'll just leave him be.   Liam and Marin talk as Marcus takes the hinges back with Zorrin and Beth. Liam mentions seeing under the floorboards, money and a bird thing. Marin agrees to add her cookies to the Mayors basket so they do not interact as much. Marin helps Liam put his hinges back up, and then leaves.   3:30pm   Going to go back to the tavern. Beth retrieves Bush Lee and the Flactus bush and goes to the tavern to finish the town board request. She goes around back and Sam opens the door, has the bush put in a pot in the corner till he's off shift. Gives Beth the 5 gold, she gives on to Bush Lee and he absorbs the coin into his body.   Beth goes to Mary Woo's house, the door is unlocked and she waves her to her reading chair under the stairs. They talk briefly about the issue with the hinges. How Liam was convinced it had to do with secrets and lies. Mary says she kept the secret, and Beth lets her know she can tell her anything.   Later in the evening the group rejoin in the tavern. From the tavern they can see the Post Maker comes into town, hangs 2 new posters, and rehangs up a Rowen Mystique one.   Beth plays music for coin in the tavern (gets 3 silver pieces). Marin and Zorrin were sitting and talking. Zorrin was going to get up to talk to the Mayor, Zorrin then stops. He stands still for a moment, eyes glazed over. Marin gets up and tries to interact with him. A second later he blinks and continues on his way.   After some tavern time Marin goes home. Rechecks her locks a few times, secures the house.   Beth goes to Mary's for a bit before heading home.   Zorrin chats with Poppy for a bit before going to his bunk at the inn.   Off to bed.
