Season 3: Session 7: The 1st Contact Report

General Summary

Date: The Month of Intuition 13th, 997 AC (Tuesday).   After a 6 day journey to Kilstrom, Kilstrom, the party heads off to the Williams' house to check in. There they meet Rebecca, Maureen, Ronald, Diana, John, Tyler, Taylor, and Finn. All are blonde and freckled like Don, except for the youngest Finn who is brown haired and without a freckle in sight.   The party drops off their gear and Missy with the family while they go out to find Oliver Orteno at Trinkets and Kindling. Kobble decides to go off on his own to deliver a letter to Isaac's beau.   When they arrive at the shop they see a short elf behind the counter with three fingers on each hand. After giving the trigger phrase, the elf tries to lead them astray. After Cecil casts Zone of Truth, he reveals he is not Oliver. His name is Remmy and he's been here since a goblin with white hair tried to attack him. Remmy found out that Oliver had been arrested as a suspect in a murder. Multiple neighbors saw Oliver leaving the house after the crime was committed.   Kobble reaches Beatrice's house and finds the windows and door boarded up. A note on the door says they were arrested for cavorting with sorcerers. An elderly neighbor verifies this, saying the family was taken to prison by the guard. Kobble climbs up the side of the building and slips into the house through the chimney. He finds a hidden compartment behind a bookcase and uses his chalk to get through it. Inside he finds a human girl, named Miracle. She is a sorcerer and the Macintosh's took her in after her parents were killed. After chalking out of the house, Miracle leads Kobble to the base of the castle in the 4th quadrant. She says Beatrice and her parents are in the dungeon.   The entire party regroups at the William's house. They leave Miracle with Missy while the rest of the party goes to scope out the prisonhouse that Oliver is being kept at. It's a blue painted building, the 1st building in the 2nd quardrant of the SW sector. There is a single gaurd at the door.   Mimzy and Kobble go inside to scope out the lobby. They pretend to be deaf and mute so that the gaurd manning the front desk has to leave to get an interpreter. While they're gone, Mimzy goes around the counter and steals a ring of keys. After faking their anger at not being helped, the pair leave the building to regroup.   Thia plans ahead and rents a inn room for 3 days so they can hide Oliver; Grandad stays at the inn after casting invisiblity on Thia and Mimzy. She also sets up a rendevous point that Cecil and Kobble wait at.   Thia and Mimzy sneak into the prisonhouse; they cause a bit of chaos and a few distractions before Mimzy unlocks the gate to the cells upstairs and the two rush up - invisibly - being persued by gaurds. They find Oliver and Thia uses Dimension Door to get them out of the prisonhouse.   The party regroups in the inn, and Oliver says they have to go to his shop in order to get the information for the next informant.   Back at Trinkets and Kindling, Oliver gives the party a vial which gives them information about their next contact - the potion also restricts them from speaking that knowledge aloud.   Their contact is Joffrey Bumblesnoot. He is a Court Liaison to the Royal Family. He resides in the NW sector of the 1st quadrant in the 5th home. No physical description is provided.   Oliver plans to flee the city now, and Kobble purchases his business. He hires on Remmy for 65% of the profits of the business, and gives him full reign to run the business. He agrees and gives up his pursuit for the clock.   The party discusses next plans and decides to try to help the Macintosh's.   Cecil considers having Righteousness help them. They plan to go find her in the morning.   Part of the party stays at the inn and the other part stays at the William's.   TO BE CONTINUED...
