Session 9: Starz Drinking Festival Report

General Summary

Date: The Month of Starz 14th, 997 (Wednesday).    Quests Started: Strange Noises from the Church   Session Main Quest Line:   It is the Little Town Bar Drinking Games, it is the 10ths anniversary of the event organized by Poppy and Brian.    The bar is overfilled with adventurers and residents. There is a dance floor in the corner where Sarah is attempting to start a kickline. At the bar, Brian, Poppy, and Don are all assisting with drinks. Sam is in the back cooking, Tim, Nicoletta, and Darcy are helping take out food orders. Missy is downing shots like there is no tomorrow at the end of the bar.   Naomi is not doing her normal duties. She is sitting at the King's Ransom with a pair of yellow framed sunglasses on her face. A number of people are sitting at the table and playing games, and people standing around the table are bringing drinks to Naomi. She occasionally waves her hand and a gold coin appears which she gives to the person who brought her a drink. There are whispers going on about all noting that Naomi is hosting the Starz god at the moment. Marin recognizes this the quickest as she has seen Naomi inhabited by Starz before in the past, Starz spilled a drink on her the first time they met.     When Beth entered the bar, Ellion approaches her with a note and a tonic. He puts it in her hand and then disappears into the crowd.       Games at Play:  

Pig Races - run by Vern and Isaac - Tof and Marin played the game, Marin entering as a pig herself. Tof got her entered by agreeing to give Isaac 20% of the winnings. They played 4 rounds, winning 3 of the games.

The Divine Favor Dice Game - not played

The Highest Favor Card GameMarin plays with David, he doesn't have the best of luck and offers some cool weapons in return for more bets. David leaves defeated. - Beth at the end of the night plays with Vern, he wins once and leaves. The very drunk Tof comes over and bets a bit, even putting a platinum coin up for bet and Beth wagers with a silver against it. Tof falls unconscious soon after. 

-  King's Ransom - Card/Drinking Game   Perrin, Marin, and Beth stand nearby watching some of the play. A man falls unconscious soon after and is taken away by 2 of his friends, so all 3 of them join the table with drinks to play the game. Starz/Naomi notes Marin first,  Marin mentioning the first time how he spilled a drink on her.    Some notable things that happened in gameplay: Marin had a flirty staring contest with Starz. Starz asks if Beth knows who her father is. Perrin falls unconscious, Don rushes over and puts him up at another table making it look like he was playing cards. Starz dances, only getting a 7/10 from Beth which is a failure in his eyes. Tof who later joined the table also falls unconscious, Starz moves him to the table where Perrin is at. As game play goes deeper in, people do not continue to join the table. Marin drinks but does not fall unconscious, however she walks away from the table as Starz was amused with her. Beth wins the game.   As Beth's winnings she gets to ask Starz for a kind of favor. Starz goes to sit next to her, going in to touch her a few times, but always stopping. Starz asks what she wants - within reason. She wants information, she asks why does it matter who her father is? Starz mentioned that Beth had an aura that comes from being one of his, but he stops the conversation saying it might be best to have in private. Starz tells Beth to call him if she needs him, and reaches up removing the sunglasses from Naomi's face. The sunglasses dissipate, and Naomi is back in control. Beth asks if Naomi remembers everything, she says that Starz lets her remember as they have a good relationship.        The night continues on, the dance floor moving outside. Beth joining in for a kickline with Sarah. Marin in her drunken state goes to flirt with people at the bar, attempting at Poppy gets a glare from Brian, moving down the bar Don hides from Marin's advance. She ends up striking a conversation with Missy at the end of the bar.   The night comes to a close.    

Perrin wakes up on Don's couch.

Marin wakes up on the stairs in the Carpenter shop leading up to the Clark's flat. Clark Sr. gives Marin a cup of coffee. 

Tof wakes up in the back of Ellion's shoppe. Ellion quickly appears in a puff of smoke, and Tof leaves. 

    Outside between the suburbs and the graveyard there is a smoking machine. A strange man dressed in all leather is bent over inside the machine before it bursts into flames. He needs water and Perrin points him to the lake, Perrin assists him in putting out the flame.   Perrin asks the mans name, but the man says there is no time, however he stops himself saying that was a rude response and introduces himself as Flynn, Flynn Flan. Flynn sits in front of Marcus, Don, and Annie to talk.    Perrin notes looking at the machine that about 10-12 people could sit inside of the machine.    Marin does a closer look, seeing that it is made of thin metal and there are a lot of parts inside she does not recognize. Looking at the trails the wheels left she can see that the tracks just appear so the machine either teleported or came from the sky.      Perrin and Tof have a side conversation, Perrin asks if Tof is Righteousness. Tof is confused, saying he is not.      The group leaves the machine and Flynn to start a quest that the Reverend had placed up awhile ago. Going to the church the Reverend lets them right in to the basement, down a ladder the small room is full of books and items. Perrin casts light on his hand and the group follows some sounds to the back of the room. There is a pile of blankets and they can see someone peek out. The person pretends to be a little girl, but gives up the ruse quickly.    Johnny Lincoln reveals himself, he puts his hands up and says "I'm innocent."   To be continued.
