Session 5: Farmer's Market Report

General Summary

Date: Month of Lun 27th, 997 (Monday). Last Monday of the month - Farmers Markey Day.   Tof wandered back into town with a bag of cheese. Met with Perrin, Beth, and Marin. Tof tells a tale of him going to Riktor town for cheese and going further out to get more. The group catch up a bit, Tof finally gets paid his 5 gold.   Farmer's Market - who is where:  

Marin - selling cookies and bread - she is set up at a table with Sam who is giving out free food - Sam is tense and not enthused by her presence

Tof - selling cheese and break - he is set up at a table with Opal and Hector Lightwriter who are selling clothes, tea cozies, and fishing lures - they are glad to share the table with Tof, but not talkative

Perrin and Beth - selling tea and cookies - they are set up with Poppy who is selling alcoholic beverages - Poppy is very glad to have company, and very talkative

The Market Starts:   Since Sam is being antisocial Marin goes to whittle a little tree out of wood, which Sam is not keen on since it could get in the food - Marin backs up - Marin notes she could help take care of the Flactus bush (he is still yet to make his pie) - he is appreciative   Zayne comes by and tries to steal some cookies, Marin gives him 3 for his efforts. He then runs to Perrin and gets half a cookie before running back to his parents.   Perrin and Poppy gossip for a little, Perrin intentionally telling half truths and brings up the cave. Talking about dragonborn footprints and how there were things about but the cave was empty, Beth disapproved of him talking to her about the cave. They bond over their mutual distaste of the Brightlight brothers. Poppy then takes a shot and some tea that Perrin offered, she thinks it is divine. May sell it at the bar.   Tof is selling his cheese and Ellion buys one that looks like a butt for 4 gold out of nowhere.   The group then goes to check in on David - Marin and Perrin notice that he seems a bit off under his usually happy persona - Perrin can see the darkness in David's eyes as he avoids going into great detail about what happened when he was ambushed. Tof pipes in saying he likes guns and would like David's assistance in getting parts to construct one. They part ways after Perrin tells him about how Isaac helped put Maurice away when David was in the hospital.   Beth parts from the group and grabs a cookie for Nicoletta who is drawing under a tree away from the festivities. Beth offers to get Nicoletta onto the roof of the church for a better view of the event so she can draw more. Marin assists first by entangling a path, but Nicoletta has bad knees and cannot physically do the act of climbing. Then Marin turns into a giant spider (which Liam sees, he doesn't say anything just points and mouths demons) and gets her on the roof.   The group all see Liam standing nearby and he is dressed up with a nice shirt and a pair of shoes. They witness a floating cookie come up to him and drop causing him to yell out DEMONS! - Perrin detects magic and sees a small humanoid aura of conjuration - Perrin looks to see if Isaac is the source of the magic and sees Isaac holding the reigns of a horse and dead staring into the main market area - Perrin hits the magic and dispels it - Liam rambles on about liars, demons, and being able to smell them   Marin notices Isaac's stare into the marketplace, he is not moving at all - Marin approaches, startling Isaac out of his stare - he lies about seeing pretty ladies, but Marin squashes that bringing up his girlfriend in Kilstrom - He says he is in an okay disposition and Main leaves telling him to blink more and knowing he is full of bs.   Perrin talks to Vern about keeping an eye on Isaac - Vern is mildly offended by Perrin's conversation and walks off   Looking around the market Marin sees Magnus painting a mug pink with Don, and sees the Brightlights talking to Missy at a booth.   Perrin and Poppy back at their booth gossip about Liam and magic - Marin gets some tea and gets a tin and an ingredient out of Perrin.   Beth then drags Perrin onto the stage for a performance. Darcy joins them on her fiddle, but she is sadly not as good as Beth and Perrin - the crowd is kind though.   Beth, Marin, and Tof stop by Missy's booth. Beth gets some scrap metal and asks her to make a nose shield based off her nose. Marin hands over her knife to be sharpened and decaled. Tof gets a lot of scrap metal in hopes to help his gun crafting.   Perrin buys a tunic from Opal.   Then starts the chaos.   Perrin goes to Ellion's booth where there are 2 potion options to sample from. A rainbow color changing one or a clear one that creates a fog. He takes the rainbow one and goes into overdrive with all of his senses. He then goes to Poppy and buys a Naomi's Special (a bright blue cocktail with an umbrella and sugar around the edges) - he can see every equation. Eats some tea and cookie, then Beth drags him back to the stage and he rocks it.   Marin from her whittling chair scoots over to Poppy (earning a stink eye from Sam). She gets half a glass of wine and tells Poppy to not give her anymore. Marin then goes over to Ellion about enchanting her staff, but ends up taking a potion instead. She drinks the clear one and everything numbs and slows down.   Marin in mild distress yells for Perrin then gets in a fetal position in the middle of the market space. Perrin goes to assist but with magic can only remove the alcohol in her system and not the potion. Marin rambles a bit letting slip that she own a gun, and Perrin also rambles about his ability to do everything.   Tof also goes to Ellion and takes a rainbow potion. He then goes to Marin and Perrin with Beth close behind them. They chat a bit, talking about the potions, noting that Isaac did not take one, and then talking about Liam Jenkins.   The group travels back to Poppy, and Marin wants more drinks, but Poppy says no and tells them about her not remembering anything till Tuesday the last time she took an Ellion potion. Marin is determined to get alcohol, she does pass without trace and Poppy starts hauling ass and gets her stuff back into the bar.   In the dark and silence of pass without a trace, Marin, Perrin, and Tof all blink and are inside the bar and it is packed. It is nighttime (8pm), and their heads are finally clear but they cannot remember anything after trying to steal alcohol. Beth is the only one who remembers everything.   The group worries quickly if Nicoletta got off the roof, they see her sitting in a booth drawing. She notices them and then flips around her drawing to show that she drew Perrin, Tof, and Marin doing a kickline on the stage.   Beth gives a dramatic retelling: - Tof made love to a chicken - Perrin attempted to befriend a Peterson barn cat, the cat ran up a tree, Perrin made chase, the cat got down, but Perrin got stuck and ended up falling out of the tree (he notes a sore hip) - Marin found the adventurer Magnus and dragged him back to her house, but first they encountered Bush Lee, Marin was okay, Bush lee was okay, but Magnus was not, he ended up in the hospital in bed for the foreseeable future   The Night of the Farmers Market  

Event at the inn/tavern, jolly good time.

Outside a gun shot rings out, stopping the music and chatter. Marcus Strong runs out along with Don, both with guns in hand. Outside Isaac Peterson is standing there with the gun still smoking in his hand and a figure lays on the ground some paces away from.

Marcus yells: "put the gun down son, don't make me shoot you"

Isaac starts to visibly shake and drops the gun before falling to his knees with his hands up - even in the fading light you can see the tears streaming down Isaac's face as Don pulls him up by the shoulder and ushers him into the sheriff's office.

Marcus takes his vest off and drops it over the face of the figure - he yells at Perrin to clear the crowd.   Perrin tries to come up and heal the person who got shot, he gets close and recognizes it as Dominic Brightlight. Marcus tells him to save his breath and points out the platinum coin that is on the ground next to the gun. Dominic was shot straight through the forehead with divine deadly precision.   Perrin goes and gets the crowd back inside, with the help of Poppy who entices them with a free round of drinks.   Beth stands outside the sheriff's office and casts calm emotions over Don to make sure things don't get headed.   The group sees Perrin as he grabs the platinum coin and tries to put it in his pocket. Marin hits his hand to make him stop and tells him to give it to Marcus since it is part of a crime scene.   Perrin does a check to see if Roger is aware of anything. Roger is seen inside at the bar.   Marcus gets the gun and goes to the office, he meets Tof at the door and he slaps him on the back before they both enter. Tof puts the coin on the desk for Marcus to take. Tof then leaves   Marcus calls out to Beth saying that Isaac wants to talk to her alone. Marcus clears the area and gets Don outside.   To be Continued.
