Session 6: Farmers Market Pt.2 Report

General Summary

Date: Month of Lun 27th, 997 (Monday) - Farmers Market - It's 8:30pm and a man is dead   Recap: Dominic Brightlight was instantly killed with a shot through the forehead. Isaac pulled the trigger and was taken into custody.   The energy in the air feels different. The electric feeling that normally courses through Little Town seems to have dulled, as if cut in half. Beth especially notes the shift and knows its reason.   Beth goes in to talk with Isaac.   Private conversation.   Beth returns later, tells the group (PCs, Don, and Marcus) that Isaac was in his right mind and was truthful.   Don runs off to go get Vern who left the event to go home.   Perrin decides to go speak to Roger now, Beth follows along. Roger is in the bar and seems to be tipsy. Perrin gets a Naomi's special and chats with Roger. He talks about taking a potion from Ellion so his memory is spacey (took a clear one), how he saw some butt cheese, Isaac bumped into him at one point. Beth stands back during this conversation, but close enough to hear the information. Perrin asks if he would like to deal with something now or in the morning, Roger opts for now and Perrin cures his drunkenness. When Perrin does this Roger gets nervous and notes how the air feels wrong now.   The three of them exit to rejoin the group.   During this Marin goes in to speak with Isaac.   Private conversation.   Perrin tries to take Roger to the hospital before telling information, but Tof yells out this his brother is dead. Marin, Perrin, and Beth all attempt to use magic on Roger after he takes an aggressive persistence to talk to Isaac. All unsuccessful, which annoys Roger more.   Marcus and Roger talk quietly about how now is not the right time, and Marin is the one that eventually persuades Roger to go to the hospital.   The group talk about what happened in the day. Perrin brings up the moment he saw Isaac staring into the market, and the group pondered if Isaac was in his right mind or if he was coerced. Perrin inquires about the gun and Marcus says it came from Vern's gun case and that Isaac would know the basics of guns from his father. Marcus and Marin also talk about the gunslinger ability and needing a connection to a god or demon.   The group sees that Vern and Don are coming back. Mayor Willow is also with them. Vern goes into the sheriff's office, but the Mayor takes Don away and they head off out of the main square area in a hurry.   Perrin suggests they retire to his home to talk, have 'tea' and wait for the morning. Beth and Marin decide to go.   Tof decides to speak to Isaac.   Private conversation.   Perrin, Beth, and Marin sit at Perrin's house and have tea. Perrin tells Marin a ingredient of his tea is wild garlic cloves. They chat a bit about the day, Tof eventually joins the conversation.   The group talk about the missing hinges and Beth brings up her concern about the liars aspect (Tof claims to be perfect and never lie). Perrin suggests zone of truth, and they all willingly fail it.   The group chats honestly.

Perrin saying he respects everyone, but does not trust everyone.

Marin says she trusts Perrin since they've known each other for 3 years, but does not trust Beth or Tof due to time constraints.

Perrin and Marin both confess they went back to the bodies, Marin saying she buried it after noting it had been there for over 6 months.

Tof talks about being a gunslinger, and Marin lets slip she is one as well (sips drink in avoidance)

Tof confesses he took the coin Isaac used so that he could use it for his ability in case of danger.

The topic turns to Isaac, Marin says he was influenced. Tof shouts out about the influence of Erif so Marin also talks about how Isaac was coerced into a contract. Tof says it was a business deal, but still murder. Perrin says speaking as a murderer to not let this define Isaac, and Marin also confesses to killing people.   Beth still worried about secrets, wondering if now is the right time.   The group doesn't like having their secrets, but Perrin says he made peace with himself. He brings up him and Beth, to which Marin wonders if they are dating. To which Perrin drops zone of truth saying he and Beth are married just for the chaos of it.   Then Perrin, Beth, and Tof all reveal they are changelings. Perrin does so by turning into his mother, Tof does so by turning into Zorrin, and Beth does so by turning into Tof.   Marin then gets up and goes to her home and changes into her bounty hunting gear. She returns dramatically through the window as Onyx dressed full in black with a Kenku skull mask.   Tof/Zorrin then also morphs into Wap speaking in his odd language, and returns the 10 gold he got from Marin.   The group is very amused by the whole situation, Perrin talking about how he would like to start a performing troupe and this may help that.   Then a loud explosion is heard, and light can be seen outside of Perrin's windows.   Perrin returns to normal, Tof returns to normal, Marin is dressed as Onyx, so Beth turns into Marin to say Beth went to bed as a cover story.   The group rush out and see the Sheriff's Office is on fire - people can be seen running to the lake to start a water chain.   Vern is laying outside the front of the Sheriff's office, not hurt much, he dove out at the last second. Vern says Isaac is still inside. Beth goes to rush in, sees the back of the building's wall is busted out.   Perrin and Marin run around the side to the back, and stop next to Marcus who is also there. Isaac can be seen staring towards the lake looking at Roger who is just behind a fence. Isaac is surrounded by flames.   Perrin notes a moment of change, Marin (dressed as Onyx) makes eye contact with Marcus, they both halt as the group shakes momentarily, before the both blink and rush into action. Private conversation.    Marin dives into Isaac and knocks him to the ground.   Marcus flips a platinum coin yelling tails, but gets heads instead causing him to miss his shot.   Perrin casts sanctuary over Roger in an attempt to end the fighting, this stops Marin from taking her shot.   Perrin booms his voice to call an end to the fighting, Isaac is intimidated by this and the fire around his proximity goes out.   Marin yells out for Perrin to drop the sanctuary, and to trust her. Perrin gauges the aggression in the area, and drops his spell.   Marin calls out her choice on the platinum coin, she is successful and does a head shot between Roger's eyes. Marin rushes over immediately, takes the sin belt buckle off of him and buries it as a trophy to the Earth Demon.   Perrin motions for Marcus and Isaac to come back to his house. Marcus helps walk Isaac to Perrin's house. He gets some tea. Perrin asks if any fire is gonna come to his house, but Isaac is not sure if he'll explode again.   Marcus says they'll have to come up with some kind of story, but that can wait since his office and house is on fire. He goes to help with the bucket chain.   Beth disguised as Marin turns back into her own form to help with the water chain. Marin turns into a giant toad to help transport water. Tof also assists with the water.   Perrin and Isaac get some rest in the living room of his house.   The fire does eventually go out, the structure of the building is still sound and can be rebuilt.   After the adrenaline of the night ends, the energy that was halved is now back to its full electric adrenaline.   To be continued.
