Session 7: Choose Your Own Adventure Report

General Summary

Date: The Month of Starz 7, 997 (Wednesday).   Things to note since the festival:  

The Clarks have been steadily rebuilding the sheriff's office.

The bodies of Roger and Dominic Brightlight were no longer held in the hospital after the incident. Marcus tells those who ask that they have been put to rest.

After the festival, Marin's hair changed. She now has blue wild snap flowers scattered about her hair, and they seem to be woven in with the locks of hair.

          Morning Activities:  

Marin - Sam delivered a pie he promised the group awhile back made from the mart berries off the flactus bush that was retrieved, and is now potted on his porch.

Perrin - A letter from Adam in Hope's Town came for you - inside was a note of appreciation for saving his child, there was also a vial of the antidote Yantuma made for Tills poison. They recommended sacrificing some of the drops in hopes it could be imbued into magical healing.

Tof - Awoke with a note on his chest.

Beth - ...did not wake up till after noon. Woke to the sound of Mary knocking. Beth felt symptoms of: nausea, headache, loss of coordination, skin sensitivity, and a cold sweat.

          Session Main Quest Line:   Mary left Beth at her house after seeing her condition. Beth locked her door, got a big blanket, and sat with her hand in a bucket of water and silver.   Mary found Perrin, Tof, and Marin together in front of the quest boards. She said that Tom was lying on the floor of the hospital in a condition similar to Beth. Perrin notes that there are some adventurers about who meet the general symptom list outside.   The group goes to see Tom who is lying face down next to his desk. On a cot deeper in, Nicoletta's legs can be seen dangling off the end. Tom tells the group his symptoms. Perrin attempts a lay on hands. Tom suddenly goes white in the face, then the color returns to which he says he feels much better. He then proceeds to vomit on Perrin's shoes, stating he no longer feels well.   Marin goes and checks on Nicoletta. She is clutching an art piece to her chest and the paint is smeared all over her dress and face. Nicoletta says she is okay, but vomits on Marin's shoes. Marin thinks the paint may have caused the issue if it was strange or brought by David, but it is normal acrylic paint.   Tof looks in some medical books in the back, and finds many sicknesses with the list of symptoms seen, and most just require bed rest.   Perrin returned home to check a book and see if he could figure anything out, but was met with blank pages and no ideas.   After Marin helped Tom get on a cot, she left with Tof.   They meet with Perrin and go to check on Beth and try to find out if anyone else is sick. The door is locked, and Beth will not get up, but says they can come in if they can get in. Perrin with ease picks the door open. Beth worries she may be contagious and decides to stay in while the others go to check on things.   The group goes back into town and to the inn. Poppy is there and Brian is lounging on a chaise next to her in a bad condition. Naomi is in the kitchen yelling at Sam who cannot be seen. Perrin talks to Poppy and says that things are not going well. Many adventurers are sick as well as her husband. She also says Sam walked in late speaking a language she did not understand and proceeded to collapse in the kitchen. Marin, Perrin, and Tof try to help Sam up after Naomi asks them to get him out of the way. They all proceed to speak to him in different languages to see if he recognizes them. He reacts to most asking why they are babbling, with Sylvan he looks up at Tof and says "mother?", with Primordial he looks at Marin and says he went to a kid in primary who spoke that language and knew she was cursing at him.     Once getting him out of the way they leave and go to Ellion's magic shop. Perrin asks if they could assist potentially as they are a powerful magician, but Ellion ignores him and talks to Tof about an enchantment. Saying he can turn his musket invisible in return for a favor. Tof tries to get a cheap deal, much to the amusement of Ellion. Tof agrees to the favor and hands over the musket. Ellion then dismisses them, not even hearing Perrin out.   They see Don on their way back towards the suburbs and he says that the mayor wants to see Marin, Tof decides to tag along.   Perrin gets a headcount of which residents are sick:

Don also shares about half a dozen adventurers are sick, and he's gotten a few letters from out of town that there are other people sick in the same fashion. Perrin inquires if Isaac is sick, Don says he is not.   Marin and Tof enter the Mayors house after Shibi opens the door. The Mayor seems very unwell and delirious, asks if Marin can go to her husband's gravestone and talk to him at 2pm. She says he'll be lonely if no one goes since she's been doing it religiously since his passing. She asks Marin just to tell him that she is okay and to just talk about the town for about 15 to 20 minutes. Says that he can rest easy if he knows she is alright.   They have a bit of time before 2pm so Marin and Tof decide to go visit Liam and see how he is. Liam appears as normal as ever, threatening the two with two guns if they get close to his property.   After the go to the gravestone and Marin chats to Paul's headstone. Rambles unsure about what to talk about.   They then regroup in the town square with Perrin after he checked on Beth again, who is staying put.   They go to the church to speak with the Reverend. Tof tries to compliment his glowiness. The group asks if he has any insight. He goes on about how this is divine in some fashion, most likely originating from one of the demons. If the divine are involved there is most likely a goal intended, and whatever happen must be let to run its course. Tof inquires if the reverend knows how something this widespread could happen. The Reverend says that in order for something this widespread to happen it is not random, there is a connection in a ritual used, a physical component must have been obtained, he listed as an example a strange of blonde hair would cause all people with blonde hair, a blue eye would affect everyone with blue eyes, but other things could be used to bring a group of similar people down. The Reverend recommends just observing and making sure no deaths occur, which he thinks is unlikely, and just go about town business helping out where they can.   Perrin decides to go help Mary with some renovations. Mary and Perrin go about tearing out the floor with sledgehammers. Perrin asks if she knows about anything divine with dragons. Mary stops, and says she does not deal with the divine, her knowledge is around the mortal only, she suggests speaking to the Reverend about that sort of thing. But Perrin specifies about a dragon banished by the goddess, to which Mary runs upstairs to grab a book. Is is a red book with scales covering it, she says that inside is the tales of villages during the great war ravaged by a dragon. This book is rare, and was acquired in a *cough* nonlegal fashion. She allowed him to check it out, and gave him 5 silver for the afternoon help.   Marin and Tof met with Sarah in the Teklar farmland. She was wildly stabbing her longsword into holes in the ground. She wants the animals removed from her premises. Marin speaks to animals and two badgers pop out and agree to leave the Teklar's farm land because Marin promised better dirt elsewhere. During this exchange Sarah asks repeatedly for Tof's gun as she wants to kill them in her anger. The badgers pop out with 6 little badgers behind them and travel to Liam's house. The badgers dig under his fence and start occupying his land. A badger head pops out in his garden and Liam from the window sill starts to scream out demons.   Tof stops by the Mayors house and asks how her sickness is, she is not great. He also asks about the gravestone a bit more, her sickness overcomes her before giving too much information.   At night Perrin sacrifices 3 drops of the tills poison antidote to Lun.     Move to the next day: The Month of Starz 8, 997 (Thursday).   Beth's condition while still not fully recovered is better. She decides to go to work. Mary is happy to see her and they work while Tof and Perrin work on their handouts for the morning.   After school hours Marin walks in front of the building having left the church and meets with the group.   Perrin suggests they all meet later in the night and have some fun at his house.   Shibi finds Marin and brings her back to the mayor, she again asks if Marin can go to the gravestone at 2 to tell Paul she is okay. She agrees, and the group goes with her this time. They spend some time making rock puns, much to the amusement of the group.   Later at night the group meet for some never have I ever with potions in front of all of them where they have to drink if they have done something.         Potion Effects:

chunky brown liquid - Tof's arms grow weak, he cannot lift anything over 1lbs for 2 hrs

Marin -

slushy blue, more solid than liquid - Marin can now walk through walls for 7 days

clear liquid with flower petals in it - Marin has gained a point of inspiration

purple and green swirling liquid - Beth is now Marin's most trusted adviser and will nothing without Beth's consent for 9 hrs

Perrin -

nearly solid maroon colored liquid - Perrin has forgotten how to read for 4 days

green liquid - Grass grows behind Perrin where ever he steps outside for 4 days

black sludgy liquid - Perrin lost 10 pts of health (it was straight up poison)

Beth -

white sparkly liquid with black bubbles - saved wisdom throw - Beth says aloud "I have successfully avoided telling you all my deepest darkest secret"

gold liquid, almost boiling - Beth thinks everyone is lying to her no matter what for 1 day

a boiling blue liquid - Beth has lost her reflection

            Perrin gives some tea to Marin on their way out. Marin on the way out stumbles and falls through the wall next to the exit and falls to the ground. Perrin goes to help and notes that lush green grass sprouts where ever he walks.   The group goes their separate ways for the night.   To be continued.
