Session 17: Back in Town Report

General Summary

Date: The Month of Starts 29th, 997 (Thursday).      Random Encounters:   Beth - Beth bumps into Don. Don asks if she's seen Darcy; he admits messing up her hair in the morning and wants to give her a nice bow to make up for it. Asks Beth what color is best, Beth picking the purple bow.    Tof - Sarah walks near Tof making loud sighing noises. Tof turns his attention to her and she asks what new dress she should get. Tof gives a recommendation, to which she replies nevermind and walks off.    Marin - did not have one???    Perrin - Sarah pulls Perrin over to a conversation she is having with Opal and Agnus. She asks if Perrin thinks there are any good couple matchings in town? Agnus and Opal are mortified that Sarah pulled him over. Sarah says he should convince adventurers to stay in town to widen the pool of candidates. Perrin makes a comment about eligible people, noting Mary, to which Sarah jumps in asking if he likes her.       Main Line Quest:   The previous night Dolius met with Beth in her house. The too chatted, Dolius saying he had a note from Starz. He gave the note to Beth, and she read it.    Dolius caught up with Beth, saying he was in the middle of a scam and he would need to get back sooner rather than later as he was teleported away from Vibrum while he was in the middle of something.    He said that their mother, Nakia, was doing well, still doing the work she was good out. And their half sister, Madea, left Vibrum a month ago. She left with a group of adventurers that promised to advance her swordsmanship.    Beth promised to take Dolius around town. Mentioned that Perrin the paladin however believes that the two of them were twins, and that Beth's original form is male, alsooo told him that Dolius was the sorcerer.    Beth also filled Dolius in about the situation with sorcerers and Ahovz.   Dolius also meets Bush Lee, who immediately attacks him - with Beth's, and Dolius', consent.    -    The group would note that there are two white tents with gold suns on them pitched up in the front of town, where the merchants were previously.    In the morning Beth takes time away from the school to show Dolius around. He meets Don, and Beth shows him some buildings. Mentioning that the Town hall is where the mayor works, and tells him that the mayor is married to Earth. She also tells him that Naomi often gets taken over by Starz.   The two then go to Ellion's shop and purchase potions.

Dolius' potion turns his tongue blue.

Beth's potion allows her to track Caleb for 7 days. 

Ellion also takes Beth back behind their curtain, and she returns with 25 gold a few moments later.    Tof and Perrin walk into the shop, seeing Beth come out with the coins.    The group is then introduced to Dolius, who proceeds to purposefully act bad in front of them, expressing his sorcerousness and twinlikeness.    While at the store, Perrin buys a singular sending stone. As well as 10 more potions.    Beth and Dolius leave to go explore the mansion. They meet Marin on the way out.    Marin comes into the store to meet with Perrin and Tof. She lets them know that Earth checked in with her.    Marin, Perrin, and Tof then leave, heading to Perrin's house for potion fun and to see who answers the sending stone.   At Perrin's home, he tries the stone. A message expresses no one is currently on the other line, for Darius the Great.    Perrin then drinks 8 potions at once.

for 17 days all lies taste awful (DC 14 Charisma save to not show it)

for 3 hours can read lips

for 17 days cannot be charmed

  Tof is impressed by what happens and runs off, going to buy 20 more potions from Ellion.      Back at the mansion, Beth and Dolius wander about. Dolius shows some brotherly concern, asking how she is, if she is happy. Asks if she is accepted. Beth drops her form, showing her true changeling form for a moment. She lets him know that her party is made up of two other changelings, and a bountyhunter, but the group doesn't talk about that stuff much. He also asks if she has told anyone about her sorcery, she notes that Isaac, Ellion, Tof, and mayve the Mayor knows.    Dolius says he should try to get back home soon, as he has deals to finish before the end of the night.   Back at Perrin's house, Tof returns and decides to mix five potions togehter. 

For 7 hours his vision blacks out, except through a center shield he can see people, but they are greyed out. He can also see the glow of Ahovz followers through the shield.

He gains 20 temp hit points

Has a desire to punch Perrin, which he tries a few times even after the compulsion ends. 

Dolius and Beth come to Perrin's house as well to have a formal introduction.    The two drop the charade of then being twins and Dolius being a sorcerer.    The topic changes as Marin says she think they can solve the Ahovz problem. Earth is sending her to go get the Air immortal, and Earth wants Beth to come too.    Beth agrees, saying she may speak to Starz about it. Perrin also likes the idea, but asks not to fly this time.      There is a knock at the door. Perrin opens the door, while the others in the house stay out of view. Two followers of Ahovz are there.   Mattias, an elven man with gold eyes, and hair, with bountiful freckles.   Divine, a golden tiefling woman with a white band over her eyes with a central sun image.    Mattias asks as a spokes person. He tells Perrin that there are in town on a holy mission on behalf of Ahovz. They are stationed in the town looking for sorcerers, in an attempt to apprehend them to be taken to stand trial. Mattias comes off as very rehearsed, his broad smile not reaching his eyes.   They chat back and forth, Mattias saying that Divine senses sorcerers, saying it is voluntary to take her hand so that she can check him. Perrin agrees to be checked, shaking Divine's hand as she does so. Nodding to Mattias after it is complete.   Mattias and Divine leave together.   A few moments later Perrin explodes in a fireball, causing the two to come back.   Marin answers the door this time. Mattias gives a similar speech to her. Asking for consent for her to be checked by Divine. She agrees, Divine noting her magical essence is deeply connected to nature.    Marin stresses her own following, how it aligns with balance, and that this town is accepting of all people. She stresses that she does not dislike the two or their mission. Mattias momentarily drops his smile when he expresses it is not a personal mission. The two walk off, with Marin saying that cold water and cookies are available at her house in the afternoons.    After the two leave, Beth expresses a desire to get out of town on a long journey.   Dolius says his goodbyes, Perrin giving him a magic staff that detects magic...    Beth and Dolius then go to the inn where Naomi contacts Starz, and Starz poofs Dolius away after a final hug.      Perrin goes off after the group disperses and is painted by Nicoletta with the handful of animals that flock after him.    David returns the letter's to Marin, says he is glad she is okay.    Marin when she enters her home finds a map in the table. The map is of the whole of Hexadiv, an island circled multiple times. This island is where the Air Immortal is suspected to live. A note says have fun in the corner.   To be continued.
