Season 3: Session 8: The 2nd Contact Report

General Summary

Date: The Month of Intuition 14th, 997 AC (Wednesday).   Cecil wakes to a drip of salt water on his forehead; he sits up and sees the shadow of a person peering into the room. It quickly vanishes and Cecil ignores it in the moment.    Kobble recieves a firey note in the morning.    After regrouping, the party decides to find Righteousness so that she can rescue the Macintosh's from the dungeons. Traveling into the West sector, second quadrant, they find her at the 37th building - called The Stealthy Ale. She works behind the bar, her twin brother, Sin, sits nearby.    She accepts the task to break out the Macintosh's, but needs the party to get her into the castle. They just need to open a door (or a window) and she can get in and out with the family.    The party, along with Righteousness, goes to the Southern restricted entrance to get to the 1st qaudrant. A fully armored human, and a dwarf, plea with the guards to let them through the gate. But they have no signet, nor invitation, to grant them access.   Cecil uses the signet ring Ellisar gave him to gain entrance. The guards believe him to be the adopted son of the Rosemary's.   Across the bridge they enter into the 1st quadrant, and stand out a bit. Thia suggests they get a change of clothes and head to Fit Sew Good. They find new clothes - some need to be tailored for pickup another day. During their browsing, they discover that there will be a ball held at the castle on Friday. The Rosemary's would have received an invitation as a noble family.    The party splits as Kobble, Mimzy, and Grandad go to scope out the Rosemary's. Righteousness heads back to the bar; Thia and Cecil trail after her to do an experiment after learning no magic works in the 1st quadrant.    Outside the gates, Thia asks Ellisar through the bottle about the Rosemary's signet ring. He says he stole it at a party some time ago.    At the Rosemary's, Mimzy finds the house to be empty - other than a cute corgy. Inside she finds the invitation upstairs, and grandad finds another signet ring in the study downstairs. They then trash parts of the house to make it look like a robbery (?), and Mimzy forges - then tears up - an invitation. She puts bits in the dogs mouth to make it seem like the dog ate it.    Regrouped once more, the party goes to the 2nd contact's location to get the crypt map. Once inside, Thia recognizes Joffrey Bumblesnoot as the man that met with David in Little Town. The man is nervous and tells the party that the map was stolen by a goblin with white hair. They can get another map in the castle archives, but he will need the party to get it for him. He can get them in the castle during the ball and will show them the way to the archive.    While speaking with Joffrey, they get more information on the adopted son of the Rosemary's. He is a tiefling, about 15 - 16 - not sure of his color - his name is Titus.   The party, having a loose plan, heads out of the 1st quadrant.    Grandad goes to the William's to fill in Missy and Miracle. Missy will get the Macintosh's out of the city on Friday and take them to Little Town.   Thia and Cecil go back to the inn and plan to be on alert if the shadow returns.   Kobble goes to the Stealthy Ale and fills in Righteousness about the plan. After MULTIPLE passbys, Kobble notices an armory called Sandy Blades. A familar sword grabs his attention and he goes in to speak with the elf shop keeper. He asks a few questions and buys a sword. It costs 15 gold, but he only has 10. She tells him to come back with the 5 gold another day and lets him leave with the sword.   TO BE CONTINUED...
