Session 18: Choose Your Own Adventure Report
General Summary
Date: The Month of Starz 30th, 997 (Friday). Random Encounters: Perrin - Vern bumps into Perrin, asking him to read a piece of paper he has. Perrin reads off a grocery list that Isaac wrote up. Perrin suggested Vern throw some sweets in there too. During this time he invited Vern to come to a meeting at the mayors house. Marin - Mary invites Marin to her bookclub on Thursday nights at 6. She mentions it is a great gal group, plus Don, and that they will be starting a new book in the next week so it would be a good time to join. Marin says yes. Tof - Sam gives Tof a basket of pies as a peace offering for his weird behavior, though refuses to talk about it. Main Line Quest: Marin is woken up early in the morning by David. He seems distressed and asks if he was apart of what caused the issues with Ahovz. Marin said it was not his fault but some things at the tomb caused the reaction. David said he was going to be leaving town and rushes away. Having been woken up early, Marin turned into a mastiff and went on patrol. Perrin, not needing to sleep, is enjoying an animal filled porch time. He sees David booking it over to his house. David says he is going to be leaving town quicker than he thought and wanted to see what Perrin wanted to get. Perrin gives him 10 platinum to see if he can get anything interesting to be worm on the head or the feet. David asks if Perrin will be in town when he gets back, Perrin is unsure. David tells him not to leave town until he gets back, as he will need Perrin's help. No time to explain, and he rushes away. Perrin returns inside once daybreak rises, returning his blanket and notices that there is something poking out of his shrine to Lun. There is a note, and a moon shaped pendant wrapped around it. Perrin also goes out and mails two letters. Tof when he wakes finds a note on his chest, which he reads before going out for the day. As Tof, Marin, and Perrin start going about for the morning they all notice that the energy feels off. There is a noticeable divide between people. Many adventurers are sewing suns or water waves on their arms, these faith groups standing apart and glancing at each other. Marin and Tof go to the church to learn more about the divide. The Reverend lets them know that Ahovz sent out a vision to all of her followers, and water followers heard of this and are ansty. The vision contained images of the first war and sorcerers siding with Erif, and how Ahovz is asking her followers to not allow this to happen again. After speaking to the Reverend, Marin and Tof leave and chat. Tof asking about Earth and if he had been saying anything about the issue. Marin let him know that Earth had spoken to her about going to Air and getting a new contract open, but Earth probably did not know about Ahovz sending out a vision, which complicates things. Perrin goes to the inn to speak with Don. Don is eating his breakfast and seems extremely on edge, almost pulling his weapon when Perrin sits at his table. The two talk, Don mentioning that he had nothing against sorcerers and was even rethinking his faith connection to Ahovz. They also speak about Isaac and the murder case, Don mentioning he was not consulted about that issue. Perrin then mentions a meeting to speak on the issue of Isaac. Perrin then stops by the Clarks, getting Missy to grind some silver down for him. Marin heads over to the Sheriff's office, seeing Johnny annoying Marcus relentlessly as Johnny is very bored. Marin pulls out some cookies form her prairie skirt to lighten the mood. Marin speaks on the issue of Isaac and the Ahovz followers in town. Marcus admitted to refusing to be checked by Divine to check for sorcerer, and he is wondering if by saying no if they will focus on him more. Marin is also concerned, mainly because Divine could tell her magic was druidic in nature. Marin goes home to work on a fantasy rubix cube. Tof goes off into the town square, changing his features slightly to align more with Earth follower appearances. He approaches a group of three notable Earth followers. The elf taking his mark as the leader introduces himself as Pirus, and says that the human is Ralph, and the dwarf is Dal. The group is going up to the Earth shrine, and Tof suggests they all go together in the hopes that Earth will let them know if they should go find the air immortal or not. The group go up together. Going up the path to the Earth shrine, Pirus walks next to Tof. Tof then pretends to twist his ankle, Pirus catching him before he falls. Tof sits on a stone saying he should rest, Pirus saying alright and going ahead. A bit later Tof limps to the shrine, seeing the 3 men all kneeling and buring items; Ralph buries an arrow head, Dal a rabbit, and Pirus a handful of tokens. Tof joins them and buries some copper coins, praying to Earth about his hopes to repair their relationship. Promosing he never meant to harm the mayor and felt bad. The coins Tof buried, vibrate back out of the ground. Pirus laughs and take money from Dal and Ralph, saying he knew that Tof was faking. Tof says he did not have nefarious reasons for his deception, stating he was just unsure of his faith. He mentions trying to make peace with the gods, and mentions how the gods need delegates to get the air immortal. Pirus mentions how focused on delegates Tof is, and tells Tof to find a deity who actually likes you. Tof limps away. Perrin continues going around, gathering people for his meeting. Marin back at home hears a knock at her door. Mattias and Divine are there, they did not know she lived there, but since there were there asked for water. The two come in, Mattias sitting and Divine standing behind him. Mattias makes some small talk complementing the interior. Marin asks Divine about her eyes. Divine says she has been given a gift from the goddess. Marin notes how withdrawn Divine appears as the two of them leave. Perrin continues about town, meets Tof and invites him to the meeting. They also have a side conversation together. The group gathers at the Mayor's house. Annie, Don, Marcus, Vern, Marin, Tof, and Perrin are all present. Perrin then starts the meeting saying "I have a plan to get Isaac out of Little Town". To be continued.
