Season 2 Session 5: Festival Day Report

General Summary

Date: 30th Day in the Month of Ahovz, 997 A.C. (Monday)   The Farmer's Market is an all day event at the end of each month. It is treated as a holiday and all businesses are closed.   Marcus had asked the party to keep an eye on the festival and report back to him or Don if anything shady occurred. He paid 10 gold each for the assistance.   The town square has been filled with booths and a stage. The booths open at noon and the stage is open to performances at 2:00pm. The night ends at 8:00pm and the bar opens for half price drinks till the extended hour of midnight.   Teth comes out of her house in the morning and feels a drip of rain on her nose, but the skies are clear.   (99) Teth goes to the town square and sees Hector watching a group of adventurers near the mission board. While most of his face is covered, as usual, you can feel him staring at them. His knuckles are white as he grips his toolbox. The adventurers are looking at town requests, the wanted posters, and quests - they are debating what to do. Hector moves to address them but then quickly turns away.   Teth notes two of the adventurers, a halfling man who had come into her store to get herbs before and an elven woman who has been in town for a few months.   Pip wanders about in the morning and goes to the town square to see the preperations.   (80) Pip hears a loud slapping noise and sees Steven slamming his hand on a crate. He is signing at a goblin and the goblin signs back to him. Eventually they grab hands and Steven pays him some coin. Pip comes up to Steven after the goblin leaves. Pip begins to imitate signing, and Steven writes that his actions mean nothing and that it is getting offensive. Pip puts out his hand asking for coin and Steven denies him and pushes his crate inside.   Arizona goes over to the closed bar in the morning and bangs on the door.   (11) Tony Clark is smoking a cigar nearby and comes up to Arizona. Clark offers him a cigar which he accepts. Clark then tells him to leave the bar alone, and he does.     There are 6 festival booths that open up.  

Don is running an arts and craft booth. He is offering rock painting for a silver piece. Darcy and Nicoletta sit with him.

The Lightwriters are selling discounted clothing. Hector is making custom fishing lures for 2 copper and Opal is knitting tea cozies for a silver piece. Caleb and Zayne sit behind the booth on a blanket.

Clark Jr. is selling off scrap metal for 1 gold per lbs. Clark Sr. is whittling small figurines.

Poppy, Naomi, and Brian are selling recipe books for alcoholic drinks and bar food.

Sam is selling snacks for 5 copper a serving.

Ellion is selling potion taste testing for a silver piece.

  Pip and Teth paints rocks and enter them into a competition.   Teth shows off her new badger friend to Darcy and Syrax.   Arizona is looking at recipe books when a tall and slender Owlin asks him is he knows Teth. Arizona points the man to the rock painting booth.   The Owlin asks Teth to speak in private, and she says later. The Owlin moves away to not cause a scene.   Teth goes around the venue and a red kobold, named Kno, in gold armor inquires about the dragon Yongrav in the mountain range. She tells him to find Pip.   While Arizona is painting a rock a half elven woman who looks remarkably like David asks if he is Arizona. She says that she is Nora (Nancy), David's sister, and she asks where David lives. Arizona is reluctant to assist her as he knows David's aversion to his sister, but eventually Arizona does assist her.   Pip consumes a potion that makes him believe his is a famous person. Syrax turns brass. He attacks an adventurer who doesn't know who he is. Marcus and Don put him in a jail cell next to Liam. Pip turns into a spider and escapes.   Nora causes a scene while banging on David's door. Teth, Poppy, and Sarah watch from a distance. Pip goes up to Nora and asks if she knows who he is, and she says "why would I care?"   Pip demands a duel but Nora says no.   Arizona slips into David's house and they chat before Nora has Pip break down the door.   Nora and David then talk and catch up while the others clear out.   Pip and Arizona go to Ellion and they poof Pip with dust to remove the famous effect. Syrax returns to silver.   The party groups up at Ellion's booth.   Arizona drinks a red potion. Gave him temporary hit points.   Teth drinks a green potion. Reduced total hit points till after exiting a combat encounter.     The stage opens to performances. Arizona and Pip sit to watch.   Teth breaks off to meet with the Owlin, Oliver Pru. She tells him that the object he is trying to get from her is protected by Water. Oliver leaves saying he must conferee with his people.   Darcy displays her magic, Don plays the harmonica, Sarah shows off her sword skill and bests all her competitors, some adventurers get pushed onto stage and embarrassedly show off skills.   Pip shapes water into a dragon and flies it above the audience. He is interrupted by Kno who requests his assistance in releasing Yongrav. Pip says not today and Kno heads off to the mountain range.   Teth turns invisible and creates a dragon illusion and it tells a story. Teth backs off stage to observe the crowd. She notices Nicoletta get up and beeline out of town.   Arizona and Pip notice Nicoletta leave as well as she had to cross in front of them to leave the audience.   Teth keeps an eye on Nicoletta and watches her climb over a fence and circle around the big tree next to the church. She then sits down and closes her eyes. Teth makes a note and leaves.   Teth lets Tom know where Nicoletta is.   The booths and stage close and the bar opens.   Starz makes an appearance in Naomi as the drinks flow.   Teth takes an Ellion potion and begins floating 30 cm above the ground. Pip ties a rope to Teth like a balloon.   Teth tries to float out of the tavern and Tom bursts in saying that Nicoletta is not waking up and he needs Teth to bring smelling salts.   Teth floats out, dragging Pip behind her, and Arizona gets up to check on them as well.   The party arrive at the tree with Tom and see Nicoletta sleeping under the tree. She does not respond to smelling salts.   Teth checks her over and notices her pulse is strong, much stronger than usual.   Pip tries a spell, but it does not wake her.   Tom takes Nicoletta to the hospital and locks the doors.   He places a sign that the hospital is closed for the foreseeable future.   5 days pass.  

Passes over Agnus's 73rd birthday.

  In the early hours of the 5th Day in the Month of Lun (Sunday), the party shares a dream along with Tom, Illiad, Don, Sarah, Ben, and Missy.   They are all floating in the sky and they see Nicoletta walking across the moon, then she is in a forest, a desert, and then gone.   Teth wakes to her house flooding. She signs about god stuff and works to clear out the water.   Pip wakes up and remembers the dream with extreme clarity. He then runs to Teth's house. He assists in clearing the water from the house.   Arizona wakes and decides to go back to sleep. He is back in the sky, but the others are not there.   The Moon Godx sits on a crescent moon and talks to him. They ask if he wants to wake up. They say Nicoletta cannot wake up and an accident occurred. She needs help. They ask again if he wants to wake up, and he says yes.   Arizona wakes up and goes to Teth's house.   He tells them about interacting with Lun.   Pip wonders if they should go back to sleep again.   Teth pops away and sends a note to Water - "what the fuck is going on?"   Pip runs home and goes back to sleep.   To be continued.
