Session 1: The first steps

General Summary

A small Gnome tinkering behind the bar with a new beer tap., a wood Elf leaning against the wall looking a little shady, a Dwarf and a Tabaxi sitting at the bar and Robert himself pouring them some drinks. Robert asks them what brings them to Bogvalley and they all start explaining what brings them there.   When suddenly the door of the inn slams open and someone screams "they're attacking again, they're attacking from the south" and he starts running again. The Tabaxi and the Dwarf starts discussing whether or not they should help and the wood Elf says he can help. which starts a discussion whether or not he will be helpful and if they want to work with him.   In the meantime the little Gnome tinkering behind the bar speeds out of the bar running to the southern part of the town. Seeing the Gnome run out of the inn the others realize that they should stop bickering and just go. The Gnome arrives in the southern part of the town and sees 2 little humanoids riding atop 2 large beasts. The enemies see him and the first one throws a Javelin at him and starts rushing towards him, the second one shoots an arrow. Aaaand the Gnome makes a 180 turn and starts running back as quick as he can.   The Gnome reaches the others that were a little behind him. He tells them what is happening and leads them to the attackers. a battle ensues. It goes back and forth until a turning point. The enemy took down the Dwarf, the battle intensified. The Tabaxi jumped on the back of the leaders beast and attacked from behind. After which they took down the leader. The other enemy seeing this started fleeing as fast as he could. But the beast the leader was on started rampaging around and attacked the unconscious dwarf. The dwarf bleeding heavily did not survive the coming seconds. The party shocked by this development quickly dispatched the beast.   Having lost sight of the other enemy and one of them passed away they frantically started discussing what they could and should do. The Tabaxi said that at her monastery there are people that would resurrect adventurers against a hefty price. Not having the money for something like that they kept thinking about other ways or getting that kind of money. But the Tabaxi, coming from the monastery, said she might convince the brother to help them.   So they set out to the monastery. Arriving there they looked for the brother in charge, Brother Jasper. Brother Jasper came walking, almost skipping, towards them after The Tabaxi called out for him. They explained the situation to him and he told them that brother Sebastian might revive their companion if they did something for him. Brother Jasper went into the back and talk to brother Sebastian. After having talked to brother Sebastian they come back to the party and they start explaining what is needed for brother Sebastian to revive their fallen friend.   It boils down to them doing a couple of missions for the monastery. Starting with the goblins that attacked the town. These goblins have been attacking the town regularly and have been dealt with by random adventurers. But they never got rid of the root of the problem. It was known that these goblins had a camp inside highvalley forest. But goblins weren't a priority to the adventurers, so they only defeated the goblins that attacked the town. This left the town under regular attacks and they were getting sick of it. so they started seeking help outside of the adventurers. Which is why they came to the monastery. And brother Sebastian thought this would be a good first mission to start paying for the Resurrection.   After agreeing to his terms Brother Sebastian told them to come back in a day, so that he could perform the ritual. So the party went to rest, prepare and gather information for their mission. But that is a story for another time.
