Three decades ago, King Calenhad united the ferocious tribes of Ferelden under one single banner. Together, he believed, they could create an army so dangerous that it could even rival the esteemed Chevaliers of Orlais. Over these thirty years, the kingdom has grown to fill a place in the history books. However, King Calenhad grows old, feeble, and absent-minded. The people of the Southern villages no longer feel safe after the massacre of the Wardens at the Battle of Dur Thendel.
