Duke Wester provides the party with 400 sums, an Ornsenic Lantern, and a Havenly Longsword.
Gavaln stepped in to provide teachings to Altor on how to enter and leave the ethereal plane. He also taught Altor how to use psychometry.
A Letter from Mother
A letter was sent to Maedhros from his mother.
To my dearest Dundragon,
I can only hope all is well as the snow falls. It has felt so long since I have seen you and long to meet again Perhaps when the others are away back home, we can meet again by the statue of Kavalani if you’d like. I figured it would be convenient for us both as I need to grab my things there before heading off as well.
Hope to see you there…
He discerned that this old written letter was sent to his father, considering that the paper itself was old and aged quite significantly. He believed it was a means of drawing him to Civarion by someone.
Levander’s Tragedy
The party headed to the Civarion Academy, where the school was empty for winter break. There, a shade resided as it caused hauntings based on its unfortunate time.
Story of Levander Hethralkiir
Levander was a loner. Not by choice but from others. His iconic birthmark on the right side of his face and down to his arm, always drew attention. At one point, he tried cutting at it within the lavatory only to be stopped when he made the first few cuts.

Iala was the kindest person he ever met. Frequently, they hung out together during their lunch periods. He even would go out to get her red camellias. Those were her favorite flowers.
As all was going accordingly, he was going to confess his feelings for her before it felt too late and just as he was about to, he saw Lurren Dundragon with her. Those two confessed for the other instead.
In great despair, Levander sought whatever greater being would listen to him. He knew the caels would simply tell him to live with the reality. So, what greater being listened to his pleas? Sidresk, of all cruelties. The Fell vician agreed to torment Lurren before a child was conceived.
However, Sidresk’s torments were too slow. Iala and Lurren had wed and bore a child together. Yet even in Lurren’s passing of his own accord, Levander and Sidresk continued to haunt Iala. Repelling the shade and going into hiding, Iala had disappeared from Levander.
Levander’s Trap
With Maedhros revealing himself, Levander caught word and sent the letter to draw him out. Keen to inflict the same pain Lurren did to him, he was instead bargained with. Elema had pointed out that his love for Iala is far stronger than the blind hatred he had for the Dundragon line. So, he agreed that by having her forgiveness and compassion in the end would mean everything to him.
Confronting a Bloated Tree
While journeying to Iala’s home, Sidresk manifested by the party, taunting them that freeing Levander from his state is hopeless. Even should he be freed, he will be sent to the Fell in the end and tied to him.
The party reaches Iala’s home and inevitably reach a conclusion that she will forgive Levander, letting him pass on more easily.
Finding the bloated tree, Iala distracts Levander while the party burned down the wretched thing. Once done, Altor escorted the shade to Etherius. Which, he would eventually be judged into heading for the Fell.
Back Home
Maedhros had convened with Elema about helping her find a position within the Kingdom of Ardentry to better utilize her talents, potentially at his side as an aspiring courtier for Queen Dundragon. In order to begin integrating, Elema would have to revoke her status as a Sarter. She intends to toy with her status in the household as a backup in case things with Ardentry do not go well.
Vacated Lair in Dustlow Mountain
Anthell’s Nightmares
Anthell’s curse was not removed. Using what resources at the party’s disposal was enough to at least grant him enough relaxation to finally sleep from the nightmares. They contacted Emulon, Amelia’s personal divine guard, to check hopefully provide swift aid.
Amelia stepped in with Emulon and Albert Mayhew. Because Maedhros had wished to speak with her discreetly, Emulon would not leave her too far away from his side. So as they discussed things, the Hall brought Anthell to him to be remedied.
Whistling in the Mountains
The party soon departed for the Luminous Monastery to find a guide through the mountains. Along the way, they found a maddened disciple who refused to cooperate. Through a lesser restoration spell, he was swiftly cured. He recalled being attacked by a strange creature that whistled and nothing more. Grandmaster Enhet was the one who managed to take one down.
With Master Amlen recruited as their guide, they headed on their way. After a tough fight with two of these strange whistling creatures, they followed one of the wounded ones to a massive cave. There, they found the Curator. A tall and slender figure in blue attire. His eyes were hidden by tinted glasses. He was sifting through what books remained in the abandoned cave. He was in search of an Aversal tome Vicarion had taken and believes it is his way back home. As for the whistlers, he directed them to keep interlopers from disturbing his own search.
Looking around the cave as well, the party found a mural of Vicarion’s ascent to becoming champion. To simplify the tale, Irator had ignored Vicarion’s call when he fell in battle but Sidresk came to him instead. Together, the two went on to use an Aversal tome to find a new strategy in confronting Ardentry. In order to officiate his title as champion, he must defeat a bearer of Ornsen’s light, which is Cardinal Marnes in Ridgewater.
The party returned home with their new insights from there.
