Session XV: The Royal Council Report
General Summary
The Party conclude their business with the elder Cutestory's thugs, Ricardo, Skeeter, and Polecat, taking them to the Mayor's Palace for their bounty. Seeking to occupy themselves in the hours until the royal council, they take up a solicitation of work from an old man, Letto, who sought an escort for a walk in the woods around his childhood home. The Party go with him from his haunt around the market apple cart, out to the rolling woodland beyond the city walls. Rather than a peaceful stroll, however, the Party finds a band of goblins and a pack of harpies at the place Letto brought them. Defeating them, the Party learn that the goblins had muscled Letto into luring victims into the woods for them to prey upon. Seemingly relieved to be free of their employ, Letto pays the Party one pretty penny and departs. The Party return to Lyspont to prepare for the council. At the gates of the Tower of the Lions, the royal palace in Lyspont, the Party meets Vincent Kypwe, their recent acquaintance and sponsor for attendance at this noble gathering. He leads them to the king's hall, where he introduces them to the other movers and shakers who have been invited, including the vassal landholders of Novarra and emissaries from nearby kingdoms.
