Session 9: Sweet Arrival

General Summary

The party arrive in Honeyport, where they are being dropped off by Captain Ross. Before they the Golden Hammer, Quinumo was given a magical scroll that would be able to summon the captain again, should they ever need him. They then stepped off in Honeyport which was still recovering from a terrible betrayal of two members from the town council who turned out to be cultists. After visiting Mr Finkledinkle who had now taken over the general store, they walked down to the smith and tried to haggle for a magical blade, with no success.    They then walked over to the warehouse where a group of adventurers had discovered the occult activities of the men who would be executed the next day. They then walked up to the tavern the Bumbling Bee, but instead of entering they looked at the notice board outside. After a lengthy discussion, they decided to take on a job to slay cockatrice, which they thought was a giant beast. When they arrived at the stable to deal with the monster they discovered that they were actually not bigger than a cat, but there were at least six of them. After haggling for more money, they entered the affected area.    Inside they found twelve little rooster-like monsters. Being aware of the beast's ability to petrify their victims, they decided to close their eyes and fight in the blind. This caused a lot of trouble, as they were still almost petrified by the cockatrice venom. In the end, they managed to kill them by hiding behind Quinumo who was avoiding them with the blur magic from his sword. But as they opened their eyes to behold the corpses of the beasts, they saw that Aurora had been entirely turned to stone.    Panic ensued as they thought her dead, but when their employer Mr Johnsson approached them he told them that she would be fine since cockatrice venom wears off within 24 hours. This didn't stop them from haggling for more money. They then spent the night in the stable to wait for their friend. When they awoke the next morning she could already speak again, but not move.    The party walked around town, visited Finklewink again and asked about his son Wilfrick. They then went to the square and saw that they were preparing for the executions. Not wanting to witness the hangings and not wanting to waste any more time, they left Honeyport and went to the Feyfire Forest just north of the town. As they approached Aurora finally managed to move on her own.    When they entered the fey forest the shard kept by Ravojhan lept out of his pocket and reunited with the amulet around his neck.
