Session 1: A Fated Encounter

General Summary

It was a day like any other for most of the party to be. It was around midday when they all found themselves, by accident or by divine design, in the same tavern, in the same village, at the same time.    Quinumo the elven fighter and his ever-faithful companion Trinky the goblin rogue had spent several days in the village of Wanwish. There they had just a few days ago got a new disguise for the goblin, who had managed to misplace her previous one. Not that she was complaining though, since the new one was clearly superior in her opinion. Meanwhile, the traveling half-elven ranger Aurora had just arrived a the village and gone to the tavern to rest her weary legs. Much like the dragonborn warlock Ravojhan who was following the whims of his patron southeast towards the place known as the Autumn Woods. He too was resting from a long day of travel at the tavern named The Warm Deer. All this was true except for the last of the adventurers to be.   Kleech the aarakocra druid was wandering through his forest's edge when he was suddenly struck by the urge to explore civilization, something he had never done before. He just so happened to live by the village of Wanwish, and as he flew into the village he just so happened to walk into the same tavern where the rest of the adventurers were situated. An awkward first impression ensued where all the adventurers became gathered around this peculiar new face. It was cut short, however, by a sudden owlbear attack on the village.   Two owlbears had forced their way into the city but were stopped in their tracks by a strangely well-coordinated attack by the adventurers. In the twelve seconds that it took for the guards to close the gate and bar the other three beasts from entering the village, the adventurers had shot, bound, stabbed, sliced, and fried the two monsters. The captain of the guard, Cameron Fogstrider, was thoroughly impressed by the display and asked the group to come and talk to him later that night.    Before that the newly formed group spent their time getting to know one another at the tavern, where they now drank for free. Ravojhan started to play music with the bard and Trinky, Aurora and Kleech started to dance. Quinumo was content with watching. The bar had started to fill with people and during the dancing Trinkys disguise became partially undone, revealing some green skin. Nothing major, but Quinumo noticed some dwarves grumbling before leaving the tavern after this occurred. Following this Quinumo decided it was best to reveal Trinkys secret to the rest of the group. This, however, changed little in the group's approach to the rogue, as they were very progressive in their thinking.    That night they went to see the captain who offered them 500 gold if they could travel to the autumn woods and find out why the owlbears are leaving the forest to attack them. They accepted and were given 100 gold in advance, which was quickly diminished to 99 gold by a quick-fingered little rogue. They decided to leave in the morning and went back to spend the night in the tavern. Kleech, as he didn't understand the need for beds, slept for free in the hallway.    The following morning was spent planning and shopping for the trip. The group went to Kingas Marketplace, the tower shop in the middle of the village. There they bought clothes for Kleech, a cloak for Aurora, a flower crown for Trinky, a robe for Ravojhan, and rations for the trip. When they felt sufficiently prepared, they left the village, heading southeast towards the danger-filled Autumn Woods.
