Session 11: Gods of the Forest

General Summary

The party awoke in the guest room, borrowed to them by the Stone Giants, only to find that Kleech was no longer among them. Knowing the birdman well, they didn't fret too much about it as the bird most probably just wandered off. The party left their room to find the feasting hall empty and the corridors filled with the snores of the giants. They decided to take their leave. When they exited the city they were watched by a large number of green kobolds who, thanks to Trinky's new dagger, didn't manage to trap the party. After scolding the kobolds for even trying they just left.   The party wandered through the woods, being led by Aurora towards her hometown of Alfenstria, the secretive elven town of the Feyfire Forest. On the way, after an entire days travel, they wandered into a clearing, filled with a dreadful feeling. In the middle of the clearing, surrounded by dead and jagged trees, was a cabin attached to one of the giant trees by the means of eight giant spider legs. They approached this cabin which seemed to almost breathe. When they had knocked on the door. heavy footsteps could be heard as the door creaked open to reveal a large, bloated, hideous visage of an Annis hag. After Trinky tried to smooth talk the hag with her regular blunt charm, the hag grew weary of her and took away her ability to speak the common tongue, by taking out a tongue and smashing on the ground. She became distraught and only after Ravojhan casted a magical spell to comprehend her rambling goblin speech, could she make herself understood. In order to make the hag take away her curse from the goblin Ravojhan finally managed to convince her to take one of his teeth. She promised that she would make him closer to his patron Hyrsam, with a wicked grin as she said so. She lifted Trinkys curse by cutting off a bit of her own tongue. The party then left with her foreboding words weighing heavy on Ravojhan.   After walking through the wood for a bit, they made camp and rested for the night. The next morning Ravojhan awoke to find that he now had changed. The lower half of his body had been changed to that of a goat, much like a satyr. After showing his party what had happened, he laid down and casted a sleep spell on himself to try and commune with his patron. As he fell into a deep sleep, he found himself in a dense, bright forest filled with the sound of a violin. He entered a clearing where he saw the satyr Hyrsam. When their gazes met, the satyr laughed hysterically. He seemed to find the predicament hilarious. Even though the curse made his magic a bit harder to control. Hyrsam agreed to suppress this a bit in exchange of Ravojhan performing a particular prank in the next town he arrived in, but was unable, or unwilling to remove the goat legs. When he awoke, the rest of the group were unwilling to accept this situation and they headed back to the hag.   When they entered the hag's clearing and knocked on her cabin, they found her unwilling to remove her curse without payment in another form. The party left unsatisfied and later that day they arrived in Alfenstria. Immediately they noticed that the town bore the flags of the Silvestra Numina, the organization that Aurora had tried to join. As they entered the elven town, they received a lot of suspicious looks from the elves, but since they recognized Aurora as their leader's daughter they were allowed to enter. They made their way among the houses made from and among the trees of the forest, all the way up to Aurora's fathers home. There they were confronted and questioned, as they tried to figure out what was going on. When it became apparent that Aurora had been unsuccessful in joining the order, her father sent all the guards away to talk to them in private.   He revealed that he had allowed the order to take over as it had been the only way to avoid conflict. He had also found out that they were after the shard of the Broken Eye, and wanted to stay in power to keep the shard safe and make sure that his defences were upheld. He advised them to leave before a leader of the order, Losandros Silverwind, arrived in the coming week. When they inquired about how to fix Ravojhans legs, he was horrified to know that it was a curse given by Granny Patty Fattyfiddler and told them that little could be done by someone who wasn't an incredibly accomplished magician. They then left, with Aurora and Trinky going to Aurora's old room, whilst Ravojhan and Quinnie left to fulfil Ravojhan's promise to his patron.   Ravojhan and Quinumo went to the local tavern, where Ravojhan, with an eyelash from the elf, managed to cast an invisibility spell on himself. He then tied some cloth around his hooves to quiet his steps. That's when he, with Quinnie as his witness, performed a mandated, pant related prank. First, he snuck up on an unsuspecting elf standing by the bar and yanked his pants down to his ankles. He then magically stepped through the dank mist of the tavern to appear further away where he yanked down the pants of another elf. He then hurriedly snuck out of the door. The tavern was filled with laughter, and according to Quinnie also the faint sound of a violin.   Meanwhile, Aurora had left Trinky alone in her old room, where the goblin began to raid the half-elf's closet. When she found a nice dress she began to rip it so that it would fit her. When Aurora returned an argument broke out, where Trinky kept bringing up her betrayal on the roads of Aeryon a week before, whilst Aurora tried to explain how this wasn't acceptable. That's when a knock was heard on the door. Aurora went to check who it was. That's when she heard a familiar voice from the other side of the door. She flung the door open and threw herself in the arms of the only person who had shown her unconditional love in her life. Her older half-brother.
