Session 21: A Failed Rescue

General Summary

Spending the night in the Treetop Tavern the party found themselves in a discussion over what to do next. After a lengthy discussion they decided that they simply couldn't leave Apieros behind, but had to take a chance to see if he was still alive. Thus they left the Treetop tavern, fetched Bork, who had had to sleep outside because he had misbehaved, and then left into the dark Feyfire forest. After traveling for several hours, they managed to return to the sight of the Silvestra Numina's camp, only to find it empty of elves. Instead, they found it filled with treants working to nurture the forest back to life. They were also jumped by the dryad who had seduced Quinumo to begin with. After a failed attempt to get any help from her Aurora walked out to meet with the treants.    After a long and slow conversation with the ancient beings, they were pointed in the right direction. Thanks to Aurora's tracking skills and Bork's sense of smell they managed to track the organization over the course of an entire day back to Alfenstria. There they hid in the forest nearby to plan ahead. They decided to send in Quinumo dressed as a member of the order. To get this outfit Trinky managed to lure a lone guard into the forest with them where they knocked him out and stripped him. This didn't really go as planned. At first, all seemed well. Quinumo managed to enter the city and sneak around a bit. But when he entered a tavern filled with members of the order to search for prisoners, a member recognized him and a chase began. After some luck and skills he managed to lose them by climbing and hiding among the trees. But now search parties of Stagriders filled the area.   In an attempt to remedy the situation Ravojhan turned invisible and went into the city. There he found that the order had also taken control of the Elsys' estate and he managed to overhear that Apieros was alive and was to be taken to the Autumn woods to face Aunty Ingerwald. He then made his way back to the others, who had now reunited with Quinny but had also been found by a Stagrider. Ravojhan tried to knock the rider out with a magical blast but missed and instead alerted another rider. A fight broke out, in which Bork almost died, but was saved by Aurora. After managing to dismember the stags and killing the riders, the party ran for it, until they found themselves once again at the eastern edge of the Feyfire forest.
