Session 25: In Custody

General Summary

After camping out by the road after their failure to help the mystical Bart, the party made their way along the road to Zarastil. After arriving the following day the group approached the capital of Aeryon once again. Along the way they noticed a wanted poster depicting Ravojhan, but they decided to ignore it, hoping that they would be forgotten like they were in Elderbridge. Sadly this was not the case and despite their attempts to mislead the guards, they were asked to come with them. Thinking themselves able to talk their way out of this situation the party agreed.    They were brought over to the Folksguard HQ and waiting to meet the Commander of the Folksguard. After waiting for a while they were brought into the office of Magrom Flintbelch, who was a large stern goliath. He told them as clearly as he could, the amount of trouble they were in and that they were about to be trailed by the king. The party seemed pretty calm about the situation though and willingly followed the guards, and gave up their equipment to be jailed whilst waiting for their trial. They were put in two different cells in the prison below the Folksguards HQ. The prison consisted of three corridors flooded with knee-deep water, with what seemed like faces at the ends of the corridors.    Not minding this they awaited their trial for five days. When they finally were taken to meet the king they were brought in chains in front of him and his court. Despite their meager attempt to defend themselves, the king was not in a kind mood, and with the arrival of the witness named Jonathan it didn't take long for him to sentence them to death. They were to die two days later. The party was brought back to their cell, now a bit more aware of their situation. In the end, they managed to break free with the help of Bert who had been hidden among their equipment. The tiny dragon brought them Trinky's thief's tools and a component for Ravojhans invisibility spell. With that Trinky opened the door and Ravojhan snuck back to get all their equipment.    Figuring that the faces on the walls would most probably flood the room completely, they grabbed their rings of drowning and prepared to escape. They exited their cells and set of the alarm. The faces opened and they swam through the tunnel that appeared. Making their way through the tunnel, after 10 minutes they were instead being pulled by the current and in the end, they found themselves in the ocean outside the city. They swam to the surface and took off the rings. Not wishing to swim back into the city just to be caught they swam up the coast and made landfall 2 miles up the coast.
