Session 2: Journey to the Autumn Woods

General Summary

Along the road to the Autumn woods, the party is met by an old man who seemed to have been sent to give Quinumo a letter, which was a plea for help written in sylvan. It didn't say from whom though. Later on, the party made camp on a hill. Aurora managed to hunt down two rabbits for dinner. The party then let the meditating elf take watch since he didn't have to sleep. During the night Ravojhan once again had a dream about the autumn woods. Quinumo also had a vision about a red, orange, and yellow forest. When morning came Aurora awoke to find an arrow next to her head, which had a message tied to it. Trinky then started to pester the half-elf for more food. In response to this, she shot a nearby bird, to the horror of Kleech. Trinky immediately took Kleech's party and scolded the frustrated ranger. The corpse of the bird was after some mourning, eaten by Ravojhan.   The party continued and as they approached the woods, they found a sword. Aurora immediately picked it up and the strange magic imbibed in the blade burned a flowery mark on her face. After some discussions, they decided to head into the forest to see if they can do something about it. There they were confronted by two satyr guards, blocking their way into the woods. These recognized Kleech, who had been a frequent visitor to the woods. They were, however, reluctant to let that many strangers into their woods. But upon seeing Aurora's mark, the frightened satyrs let them pass.   The group walked straight into the woods, following the path emanating from Aurora's mark. But when the magic fizzled out, leaving them without a path. That's when Ravojhan saw a vision of his patron and convinced the other to follow it with him. The vision led them to a clearing where they found a cabin suspended on three chicken legs. When they approached the cabin lowered itself and the inhabitant, a green hag named Auntie Ingerwald came out to meet them. She admitted to having sent the owlbears out of the forest. She agreed to call them back if they cleared out a group of satyrs in a clearing to the north of the forest. She also agreed to remove the mark she put on the now charmed Aurora, in exchange for them retrieving an amulet from a nearby ruin. The group carefully agreed.   Upon reaching the northern clearing they found a party was going on. Upon seeing Kleech, the satyrs quickly invited the group to party with them. Whilst partying the group managed to cleverly convince them to leave the autumn woods and head west to find the spring woods. Something that was completely fabricated by Trinky and Kleech, but when Ravojhan, as a proven follower of Hyrsam, joined in they were convinced. They then partied all night, and when they woke up the next morning the satyrs were all gone.   The group headed back to the hag, but when they lied to her that they had killed the satyrs, the hag showed how much power she actually commanded over Aurora. She snapped her fingers and Aurora collapsed in terrible agony until they apologized to her. They were then convinced to take on the other mission in order to remove the mark from their ranger. Whilst discussing Trinky almost agreed to a deal that would allow the hag to make her prettier, but she left to think about it.   When they arrived at the ruin that the hag had described as horrid and disgusting, was actually a beautiful and peaceful grove filled with flowers and bunnies. When they approached the ruin their path was blocked by two blink dogs. Ravojhan used his powers to speak with them and learned that they were protecting the ruin and could only trade the amulet for another artifact. Artifacts they only the satyrs could provide. After telling the blink dogs that they were leaving, Trinky managed to sneak up to the door and open it. In her excitement she yelled out her success to the group, thus alerting the blink dogs to their activity. A battle broke out between the party and the enraged, betrayed blink dogs.    Kleech begun by freezing one of the dogs, followed by Ravojhan who played a magic tune that put two of the now six dogs to sleep. Arrows flew and hit the charging dogs. The party then cut most of the teleporting dogs down. Trinky rode on the flying Kleech's back and shot arrows on the dogs below. When all the attacking dogs were killed they slaughtered the last two sleeping ones. The peaceful meadow was now filled with the stench of combat. The party entered the ruins and found the medalion. An amulet of a broken eye.
