1.06 The Goose is Cooked Report

General Summary

The Low Bar awoke in the comfortable beds of The Wizard's Grace in Breachill on the morning after a seven day stretch of downtime Refreshed and rejuvenated, the party begins to head out, only to discover that Kal was absent, shopping for supplies. Once he returned, they again started out but stalled in leaving the city once they realized they lacked a map of the region. On to the Archive of Breachill.   Jorell Blacktusk, archivist of the city and all around grump, greeted them at the door only after Veerefel offered coin. While inside, V read from a book that outlined the strange beginning of the rather young city. Only 160 years prior the city was founded by 50 lost wanderers who had forgotten all they once knew. Fortunately for them, Landon Breachton came upon them and helped them form the city of Breachill. V also learned that Jorell overheard Voz, the local bookseller, mention needing to meet someone named vilree in passing. That was three months ago. The party left the archive with the map in tow.   Travel from Breachill north along the main road was easy enough. Within hours of their journey they passed Castle Altaerian high in the mountains as well as crossed the Three Timber Bridge. At the intersection of Highland Road and Lannis Cut, the party turned west and labored along the unimproved trail following Calo River. Just before nightfall the party camped by the side of Mirror Lake. Kal selected the spot which was an ideal location and, seemingly, already occupied by a nursing pair of swans. The male giving the party little option, the aggressive bird was made into the nights meal. Just in time for Waldolanus Twofoot to arrive for dinner.   Waldo the halfling trader was an opportunistic, if loquacious, and seemingly harmless, traveling salesman who had recently been booted from Etran's Folly for some misdeed to which he never fully explained.   While camped that night, the members of the Low Bar setup three highly enlightening watches in which Veerefel talked with Gunnar, Kreck talked with Kal, and Lucky talked with Tbom.   The next day the party heads out with Strudel offroad towards Hallod's Dropoff. On the way Kal spots an unnatural bird in the Blackwater fens. More evidence of the effects of the groundwater? They decide to let this mystery remain unsolved. Eventually they find the edge of Horn lake where hallods hollow tree stood empty save for a note from Vilree and a backpack (also empty). The note was about killing bort. the backpack was larger on the inside than on the outside.   With this newly acquired item, they headed north to the Pens. The area outisde of the former Vilree hideout were denatured and corrupted. What awaits them in the Sawback mountain forest? We shall have to wait to see
