S01E10 - The Oathkeeper

General Summary

The four heroes entered The Old Glade to seek out this Oathkeeper and bring the random killings to an end. First the old hunter was struck down by terrible wounds and an infection of some kind, and then a random traveler attacked senselessly at the side of the road, slaughtered and dragged off to leave nothing but a broken wagon and splatters of blood.

As they traversed the root and vine tangled ground, the glade seemed to clone in around them, even obscuring the path back out to the light. In the dimmed light, two of the four vanished, and then the Hollow Maw set upon them with grave sounds and flame and whispers. They found a crumpled paper with odd writing...as they were directions on how to act.

The Hollow Maw closed in, unseen in the shadows. Then the leader, the Oathkeeper, appeared on a stump high above them. The man in tattered robes and a terrifying mask.

The two remaining heroes handled the whole group pretty well, but then there was a terrible sound, and a huige log flew overhead like a spear of the gods and smashed into another tree, knocking it over, such was the force of the blow.

The Hollow Maw, suddenly quite terrified, routed in all directions, and their Leader vanished in a large puff of thick smoke.

They followed the pull of the stone fragment deeper into the heart of the glade, where they discovered and sunken sanctum, wherein the Monolith still stood...
