S01E09 - The Lord of Highglade

General Summary

The heroes, eager to learn more of this local legend sought out the Lord of Highglade.

Lord Deross Vancroft was very helpful filling in a few small details of what he has been able to learn from his collection.

The heroes headed back to Thornbrush only to be met by panic and suspicion by many of the villagers. The creature and minions attacked and killed a traveler on the road, seen by a nearby villager, and a message was clearly given by this and more writing on a wall, that treasure/tribute must be given, and that they hold the Lord responsible for their awakening or attacks. Even the Alderman has succombed to the fear and rumors, and had to be dressed down by Marshal Jared.

Hoping to find more clues, the heroes searched Corbin's home and found an old stone fragment with some kind of ancient writing on it. Jared tucked it away carefully in his backpack.

The fellowship prepared for their trip back to the Old Glade on the morrow. But in the middle of the night, Martha screamed as she awoke to some noise made by Maia as she tried to steal the stone fragment. This woke Jared in a fight-mode ready to attack, but upon seeing Maia, he calmed down and took her to the hall and scolder her. She could have some time tomorrow looking at the stone...

...and in the morning they set off for the Old Glade.
