Session 011: Van Richten's Tower & playtime with Hags Report

General Summary

They made their way to the Khazan's tower & a Vardo (vistani barrel shaped wagon) was sitting before the tower. They spoke with them & were able to gain access to the tower. By solving the riddle at the door.

Four clay statues were holding chains on the ground floor, & pulled Orion & Adon up the four stories where they found a head & in it they found a several books that the couldn't read, & one that was blank.
They brought the tomes to the front of the tower & were pulled into the Tome of Strahd where they experienced the history of Barovia. They saw a young Strahd speaking about how his mother was pregnant with Sergei.
They came out of the Tome (attunement item, 4 hours of study & successful Int (Investigation), or Int (arcana) check to unlock the next chapter.
Van Richten came in & informed everyone that the town of Vallaki has had a change in leadership.
Victor Vallakovich has been made Burgkomaster, his mother & father have been sentenced to death.
They've announced that they will begin selecting women & having them sent to Castle Ravenloft.

Van Richten & Ezmerelda & Arturi discussed the possibility of using forgiveness to break their respective curses.
Van Richten suggested that they could teach him about the Vistani.  It was agreed to wait until after the end of the situation with Strahd to pass.
They made their way to the old Mill named Bonegrinder.
Nick told them of the three hags that were present in the Old Mill.

Nick was taught by these Hags & defeated all except one of them.
Exploring the windmill they found a deed:  

This document is a deed for the windmill for Morgantha dated the year 572 BC. There is a clause allowing the structure to be used as a place of business as well as a residence. Authorizing them to store children & use them for their business practices. As labour & ingredients.   It is sealed, & signed by Strahd von Zarovich.

He doesn't want to go home becuase his father traded him for Dream Pastries, he's heard that Ismark is nice & would like to move in with him if at all possible.
The party discussed leaving Vasilka there with Freek when they head to the Forest Fane located nearby.
