Session 2 Report

General Summary

It was supposed to be a day of rest for the members of the Sixth Precinct, but in the morning, they all received summons from their captain for an emergency case; they were to come in immediately. When the members of the investigative team arrived at the briefing room, they were greeted by Captain Ares, and a new man claiming to be an expert on the rules. He introduces himself as Domiel, and begins quoting rules violations to Remiel.   Captain Ares quiets the group down and briefs the group on the case. A nobleman, Zakum, had gone missing in the night and a man rallying people in the slums is claiming to have performed the kidnapping. The man's calls himself Azazel, and has been rallying the poorest in different slums around the city lately. Ares tells the group that Zakum appears to have been taken from his house as it looked ransacked according to the reports he received, but also mentioned investigating his lab in the castle in case it yielded any clues.   The investigators thanked Ares for his help, some sarcastically, and Domiel quoted some more rules at them. They were on their way into the slums to ask around about this Azazel character when they ran into Rinra, a member of the Last Defenders, again. She stopped to talk to them and the investigators learned of the rally's location and a rough starting time that night. They thanked her, and left to rush towards Zakum's lab.   The investigators arrived at the lab and the stationed officers let them inside after confirming their identities. Inside, the lab was a total mess. Notes, vials, instruments, and various other things were strewn about. All of the notes that the group found were different recipes for various food items, which did not make much sense for the type of lab they were in. Cato swipes a few random vials, and Remiel grabs one of her own. The group picks up a trail and follows it south all the way to the warehouse that the investigators learned Darsin owned.   They peered inside the warehouse, discovering various holding cells filled with people of different races. They resolve to free the people without using magic so that the break in cannot be traced back to them. After freeing the people, they detect the meerans of the group who are quickly dispatched by the six investigators. They have no way to efficiently and discreetly dispose of the Meeran corpses, so they summon some extra hell hounds and feed the corpses to them.   After the gruesome deed is done, the investigators split up so that they can go to both the rally and Zakum's house. The group that goes to Zakum's house arrives there in the evening and are let in by the guards. the house looks like a tornado hit. Drawers are thrown about. Tables, chairs, furniture, and the like are thrown all about. The group quickly surmises that someone was looking for something in the home of the nobleman. After looking around for a while, the group notices a secret compartment that holds a lead box. Inside, the box contained a winged orb. They sending the others and take it back to the precinct in secret, not telling Captain Ares.   Over in the slums, the investigators tasked with attending the rally make it there way before it starts. They post up seperately in message. During the speech, Azezel reveals himself to the crowd in a red hood with a white and gold mask. He gives a speech that declares the rulers of this city to be corrupt and uncaring for the needs of the people along the wall. At the end of the speech, he points out the three investigators that had come to the speech and starts to leave as the people shout at the investigators.   All three of the investigators push through the crowd and catch up to Azezel and exchange a few words. Azazel's ally comes out and threatens the investigators but is dismissed by Azazel. After a few more threats and non-commital answers, Azazel disappears through some sort of supernatural means, though Zariel does catch him with an acid spell.   Everybody makes their way back to the precinct where they begin to experiment with the item. Remiel grabs it, and leaves her body projecting onto the ethereal plane. Zariel tinkers around with it without touching it and activates it sending out healing energies to the people in the room. The group decides that it is too dangerous to just leave lying around and decide to bury it outside of the city. Only one of them will know the location, and Remiel is chosen to carry out the task.   As she begins to leave the precinct, the sounds of a gathering crowd can be heard and everybody goes outside to see an angry mob gathering around the precinct.
