Winter's Third Turning, Ninth Moon, 1511 to Vinum 10, 3033: Year of Darkness

The Omens and Flamebringers did noble battle against Mab.

The harrowing encounter came to an explosive conclusion when Ilya pulled out the Big Bomb, rushing the Queen of Winter. She caught him as he approached, and he lit the fuse on the bomb's Blaze of Glory. She asked him if this is really how he wants his story to end. He said he'd have it no other way.

His sacrifice shattered Mab's chosen form, forcing her into her true form. She froze the party, once more offering the deal to have one act as an emissary, the other as a knight.

Amara became Winter's Emissary.

As Mab left, disguising herself as her chosen form once more, she let in the Thunderbirds, who rushed to the party, checking on them before falling in around Ilya's remains, many (Junn Qo) openly weeping. The two groups gathered around in vigil, comforting one another.

All but Sapphire and Andy, both able to see the ethereal plane, who watched as the Gray Lady came to bring Ilya to Manto. She spoke to Ilya, telling him she is the Death Who Loves, and she will not forget him or what he has done here, contrary to Mab's discouraging words. She will carry what he did here with her.

Andy and Sapphire hugged Ilya's specter, wishing him goodbye. As the Gray Lady's gate closed, it began to snow around the party, slowly at first, then building to blind the party, until there was a sudden shift in perspective.

Looking up, there is blue sky above. A murder of crows flies overhead. Sitting up, they find themselves in a grassy field. Nearby, people step out of winterized homes, a nymph dances in the burbles of a spring. They're back in the Mortal Realm.
