Session I: In the Still of the Night Report
General Summary
"The Sun rose and shone its glory upon the traveling caravan, but as our heroes were just beginning to wake, the sound of furious, exasperated yelling filled the air. Our heroes awoke to discover that Adair Beornson, the caravan's leader, had been robbed of his most valuable possessions in the still of the night. Four members of the caravan, Aiden Pearce, Lady Rosemary Blairsdothar, Alder Eaddard Orenson, and Lord Faustus Audentus, stepped forward to hunt down the thieves and return what was taken. With a keen eye for investigation, Aiden found orders in Adair's tent, detailing when to rob from him. With no other courses of action, our newly formed party set off to find the scoundrels who had wronged Adair. On the hunt, Rosemary spotted a man patrolling around with a dog. Aiden called to the man, but the man, being a bandit with the gang that robbed Adair, attacked with his dog. The party managed to dispatch the rogue and claim his dog, but not before forcing him to reveal to them his gang's hideout, an abandoned mine. Our heroes made their way to the mine and attempted to enter stealthily, but they were discovered, and so the fight was on. The party fought well against a group of three bandits but were put in a tough spot when the bandit chief joined the fray. With the bandit chief seemingly able to take any hit they threw, the party was in dire straits when a brave knight came to their rescue, forcing the bandit chief to capitulate. The knight revealed himself to be Yvain, a Knight of the Twelve. Yvain also revealed to the party that the bandit chief they had defeated was Sherard Haroldson, a notorious bandit lord who had evaded the guards and terrorized the people for years. Together with Yvain, the heroes took Sherard and Adair's recovered items back to the caravan and continued on to Orenfeld. Upon arriving in the city, Yvain, Adair, and the party took Sherard to the palace to be tried by High King Godric himself. The king found Sherard guilty and sentenced him to death for all of his crimes. The High King rewarded the party members with 150 gold and a sip of holy water for each of them. Our heroes looked to find a place to stay in the city, and the High King referred them to me, High Lorekeeper Feadorn. The party arrived in the library and offered to help me in return for a place to stay." -High Lorekeeper Feadorn
