Session II: Witchfinders General Report

General Summary

"After a good night's rest, the adventurers awoke and began their day. Faustus received news that his family had decided to cut him off from their money. He didn't have much time to sulk over this, as he, Eaddard, and Aiden went out for some breakfast. On the way, they encountered a mysterious man from the past, who left them with a book that they gave to me. Rosemary decided to go shopping, where she ran into and ended up beginning a relationship with Yvain. After a morning out, the party returned to the library and went off on their quest, a journey to the Witchwood to retrieve a magic tome from a right nasty hag. They were quickly set upon by writing spiders, and most of the party were poisoned and paralyzed, but Rosemary managed to kill the spiders. The heroes were then discovered by a group of werebears, formerly human soldiers named Hildebrand, Alfdag, and Berengar. The werebears nursed the party back to health, and coincidentally were planning on fighting the same hag. The group came up with a plan, and attacked at dark. They defeated the hag's guardians, and Faustus managed to take the tome. He made the mistake of using it, raising corpses to fight for him, and cursing himself in the process. In an act of divine intervention, the avatar of Theostru appeared and killed the hag and her undead warriors, as well as releasing the souls of the werebears to the afterlife. Oren destroyed the hag's alter, dispelling the dark magic she had accumulated in the surrounding area. Faustus was arrested by Aiden, and the party returned to me. Aiden explained Faustus' crime to me, and I pardoned him. I used my magic to lift his curse, tearing his shade from him, which he defeated in combat. Eaddard went to the Grand Cathedral, trying to recenter his connection to Oren, or something like that, where he encountered my dear friend, Archbishop Ebrecan. Aiden went out for a drink, followed shortly thereafter by Faustus, which led to a brief fight and partial reconciliation between them. Rosemary went to meet Yvain, who took her to a private place on the city wall to watch the sunset and spend time together. At the day's end, the party returned to the library and retired to their quarters. Also, I got a new staff. It's very nice."   -High Lorekeeper Feadorn
