Session 4: A Birthday to Remember
General Summary
At the end of Session 3: Someone to Answer To, you touched base with Neela and let her know of your desire to go to Isadell -- she asks for 2 days to buy some goods to sell in Isadell (parchment, inks, etc.) → give PCs a chance to prepare for the trip in whatever way they want. They can expect a 3 day trip PCs set sail, met the crew, and celebrated
- Found out it was Tomas Moorsdon's 56th birthday
- Tomas and Abe went fishing (Abe was unsuccessful)
- Tomas concocted the foulest, sickest meal of fish -- no one wanted his feelings to get hurt, but both Tomas and Abe ended up vomiting off the side of the ship
- Also met Jester Allard, who played some tunes on his fiddle
- Gitink Cooper & Ella Bonk danced, Zoran bobbed cautiously (was not heavily imbibing), Abe tried to play along on his pipes but it didn't quite work
- Menkomi Sachin noticed Abe's playing and mentioned that it seemed familiar but just a bit different than a folk song she knew -- Abe & Menkomi got to talking and PCs learned that Menkomi has traveled far more than the average high elf and loves to experience new places
- Gitink and Ella share a cabin, Jester and Tomas share a cabin, Menkomi has an extra hammock in her cabin
- Zoran shared Menomi's cabin & Abe set up another hammock on deck
- Giant octopus + ability to use an action while in the water to hit the ship, causing everyone to roll a DC 15 dexterity saving throw or be knocked prone
- Abe made perception check to see this thing coming, and alerted Zoran & Neela
- Unarmored AC: Abe = X and Zoran = X
- Crew (not including Neela Emere remain below deck at Neela's orders)
- Found out that its goal was to get the orb
- Determined that it wasn’t acting like a normal octopus (came to the surface instead of staying in depths), seemed to be compelled/drawn to the orb in some way
