Session 16: Battle for the Throne Report
General Summary
The group joins the fight against the vampires and gnolls fighting for control of the Throne of Winter's Chill. They commence a long and hard fought battle. During the fight, Lydia notices that the leader was a vampire that escaped from Illendor and away from her father years ago. The vampire calls out to Lydia and screams he will send her head back to her father in Illendor. Through a combined effort, Xin and Bucky throw the vampire off of the Throne where he collapses and Lydia stabs him and removes his head. While they are patching themsleves up and inspecting the Throne, Lydia finds a line in Primordial and instructs the Throne can only be destroyed by a mighty blow from one of the Platinum Control Scepters. Bucky takes up one of the two platinum rods in their possession, and swings against the Throne twice. The first blow causes a crack and the following second one breaks way into the magical artifact. Both the Throne and the scepter Bucky was holding, explode in arcane energy and dark iron shrapnel. Resulting in Bucky falling unconscious. Biri heals him enough for him to walk and the group makes haste back to Dulmauk's safe room in the Enborne Darks. Dulmauk, takes out a scroll he had leftover and teleports him and the group back to Elleryn's Arcane Tower. There Dulmauk is taken by clerics and mages to recover. Ein Ianson meets back up with them and gives each of them a 1000 gold reward for destroying the Throne and ending the winter that was engulfing the country. He offers them work in the northeastern part of the Northlands and promises there is no chance of heading into the underdark this time... Bucky decides to take his leave and settle down and fish for awhile. Ein after conversation with the group, offers to take the group on a trip to the beach where he said he could arrange a fishing boat for Bucky to board if he so pleases.
