Session 8: Rebels In The Badlands (part 3) Report

General Summary

Nuuta climbed down from the tower back to the balcony, trying to think of what to do next when Sharn, the half giant, ran and jumped off the roof of the tower to the roof of the master bedroom. With his immense weight Sharn punched right through the roof and landed between Osiris, Gar, and Zwerk. The masked dwarf jumped down to the balcony to take on Nuuta.

Nuuta, feeling confident, sent out tendrils of thoughts towards the masked dwarf. "DON'T MOVE!" With the words imprinted in her mind, the masked dwarf's body went rigid; unable to move. In the bedroom, Sharn was taking on three opponents at once. His long Lotulis weapon breaking Zwerk's Trikal in the process. Seeing this, Osiris decided to level the field and lifted Sharn with an impressive display of telekinetic power. Sharn, obviously accustomed to surprises, kept attacking left and right despite his predicament. Osiris then sent a great push and flung Sharn through the bedroom doors and over the balcony, but not before the quick half giant managed to grab Gar on his way out. The both of them fell to the terrace with a thud.

While all this was happening, T'Chai used his powerful legs to propel himself to the roof of the tower where he was met by a young human boy of about ten years of age all covered in blood.

"You betrayed me T'Chai. And you murdered everyone at Breakshore. I know it was you who sent the kreen swarm!" T'Chai stayed unmoving for a few breaths, but then it all made sense. Koreecha had told him how the Heart of Raniss could bring back someone's youth. This boy was Alkurt!

With the alarm raised and guard beginning to pour in, T'Chai knew that he and his friends needed an escape plan. ..

Back in the bedroom, Osiris, Zwerk, and Akassia were dealing with guards. More would be coming soon. Osiris managed to eventually deal a fatal blow to the two guards by smashing them together using psionics. On the balcony, Nuuta tried to kill the immobile dwarven woman but seeing your doom gets your adrenaline going. The masked dwarf regained control of her body and started leaning into Nuuta, dealing a lot of damage. In the chaos, Zwerk realized that Gar would fair poorly against Sharn all by himself so he swung himself off the balcony and, with a gracefulness rarely seen among dwarves, landed on Sharn and buried the blade of his carrikal in the half giant's skull.

Akassia and Osiris managed to jump down the balcony while Nuuta, having again used her psionic powers on the masked dwarven woman to immobilize her, failed to land gracefully on the ground. Her face met with the ground firstunfortunately. T'Chai jumped down the tower and regrouped with his friends. His friends stared at him for an instance before itdawned on him that the bloody head of a human boy in his hands was probably the cause. The kreen extended his other hand toward them, showing the Hreat of Raniss.

"This is Alkurt. He used the Heart to become young again. I tried to make a deal with him to let us go but we had a disagreement." The kreen explained as he took a bite out of a fresh bit of brain about to fall off the skull. Disgust and relief flashed on all their faces at the sight, and the group calling themselves Fox Force Five hightailed out of the Kambo estate with some bruises and a few stolen crodlus. They rode out into the darkness for a few hours to make sure they would not be followed and Akassia directed them to a safe spot to camp out the cold desert night.
