Session 6: Rebels in the badlands (part 1) Report

General Summary

~recounted from T-Chai's memories

I can’t believe that I was turned away at the gate of Raam. I lived there more than half of my life and I am still not one of them! I guess us Thri-Kreens do look the same to those meatbags.

The good news is, having mingled with (tolerated) people from all walks of life, I know where to go. I found the hidden entrance on the side of the city wall, one I used one too many times to avoid being seen. The hidden door led me to the bottom of the barrel part of the city, the religious quarter, filled with beggars, criminals and my own people. I started hunting since the last time I ate was only half of that delicious dead elf brain.

While I was having the time of my life, a strange looking man appeared. He looks like Gar, but with a bit more beard hair. He opened his mouth, I didn’t listen to what he was saying but I realise that he is Gar, for sure, just terribly disguised. I am glad he came looking for me, tried to offer him a human leg I was chewing on but he refused. I mean, it’s not Michelin three stars but hey. He filled me in on what happened while they were gone, while staring at me chewing the leg very intently. What a strange species.

The one interesting bit of what he told me was, Nuuta, being a cautious Elf, wanted to test if she could trust Zwerk. She threw a stone at a Templar’s dog and hid behind Zwerk. Zwerk, not knowing what has happened, helped and protected Nuuta from the Templar. They built what the meatbags called trust. This story intrigues me, I should probably win Nuuta’s trust as well. What confused me more is Gar started talking to me about possibly interspecies homosexual mating, saying that his holes he didn’t know existed were explored fully. How many holes are there on a meatbag creature? I didn’t ask because I’m afraid he would continue talking about his holes.

I rejoined the bunch. Apparently, we are still looking for that red stone called Heart of Raniss (?), allegedly named after a woman whose heart was broken by her mother-in-law. What’s a mother-in-law? Some strange culture they have, I have never even met my father.

Akassia seems to have a crush on Osiris. Yes, I learned this new word called crush, seems to mean wanting to bone someone desperately. On their way to fix Osiris’s armor, Akassia tried to express that and Osiris basically responded “Awkward.” How fascinating!

At the house of Luglug, the famous local weapon and armor maker, Akassia wants to bargain with his to buy a short bow and have Osiris’s armor fixed. Luglug’s slave booboo turns out to be a key part of the negotiation, as Luglug lowered the price after whipping him and asked Akassia to whip her “slave” Osiris too. The two had to play Luglug’s wicked game, Akassia had to whip Osiris to get Luglug lower his price. Eventually, after several rounds of whopping asses, Akassia and Orisis reached a great deal of getting a +1 short bow for 300 cp, Luglug throws in a free armor fix and Akassia sold her broken bow for 200 cp. Damn. Akassia later went somewhere without any company. This girl has some secrets.

We continued to search for the mother-in-law stone and went to see Mao (??). I am shook by this name, might have gotten it wrong since Mao was once a great leader of the Thri-Kreens. He was originally the treasure hunter who attained the stone and gave it to a powerful person called Mr. Kambo. Being very proud of the fact that he is a a-list treasure hunter, he agreed to take us to the estate of Mr. Kambo. (I have no idea why he took us, our bunch doesn’t look trustworthy at all btw.)

We stood at this amazing looking building shortly after, there is music and smell of a feast coming from inside. A half giant guarded the gate, judging from the very tall slit on the door from which he looked at us. We told him that we were invited, though obviously not looking the part. Then Gar said we are actually performers. Miraculously, the guard believed us and let us in. Seems like the legend is true, giants are dim. I love that about them.

We entered and realised every floor and every corner of this festive place is guarded. Obviously outnumbered, we will have to come up with something smarter than we planned.
