The Festival of Couches Report

General Summary

The party discussed their options, as well as a plan to get party members to observe the entity who is training Valen.   Mrs. P. ordered the artful dodgers to steal something during the festival   Mrs. P. and Tegus observed Valen's training.  Valen talked about possession with the young female bard and made her very nervous.  The entity returned but Mrs P and Tegus did not detect any info from it.  It tried to instill fear in Valen but its attempt did not succeed.  But the bard became terrified and ran away.   While shopping at the market, Flidais and Rivan came across Naj the dwarf.  Flidais helped Naj pet the merchant's guard dog.  Graham was offered a Festival Cookie from the Deliverers and received applause.  The cookie was from Caspar, and he went off to the orchard to meet him.   The party finally infiltrated the cellar of the mansion.  They found a trapped creature there, summoned by Valen's descendant who died in the process.  It was trapped and wanted the party to destroy the gold orb keeping it in the summoning circle.  The party deliberated for a long time about doing this.  Finally Valen elicited an agreement with the being that it would help twice if called.  They could call it with a bone buried under the mansion stables.  They freed it, it screamed, and Flidais fell down into a horrible dream.  Valen dug a bit in the stables but realized the bone was buried deep and would need more effort.
