Session 10: Who Knows Report

General Summary

Party One - Fengrao, Galit, Heavens

Fengrao and Heavens set out from the Black Chase and across the plains of Medo, travelling with all haste to the camp of the Bull of the North and arriving on the 23rd day of Descending Fire. The pair utilised the skill of Earthwalking to enter the camp undetected, and determine where they might find Galit imprisoned - in the centre of the camp.   Fengrao planned to pull Galit through the earthen floor as part of the escape plan, which was blocked when she reached through the floor, as Laraken stole the Essence from her, leaving them trapped in solid earth, although fortunately neither needed to breathe. Galit decided to resolve this issue by beating Laraken senseless, which did not kill the demon, but did alert the camp to the escape attempt.   While Laraken attempted to futilely slice through Galit's Sea-bound flesh, the Children were scrabbling for a plan. Galit burst through the back wall of his cell, and Fengrao collapsed the earth into a verdant sinkhole that freed both herself and Heavens. A mob of icewalkers were gathering, though, attempting to bring justice to the escapee and his rescuers.   Galit crossed the sinkhole to keep the largest part of the mob from his siblings, decimating the group with wide, sweeping blows of the Water Dragon Style. Fengrao and Heavens battled the demon in the pit, unable to penetrate his perfectly-ordered chitin. Then, one of the icewalkers blew a long, low note on a hunting horn, and the eastern half of the camp was lit with blazing sunlight - the Bull was coming.   The Bull arrived quickly, summoning both Galit's daiklave and his own, and sighting not one, but three Dragon-Blooded in the midst of his camp, brought the full might of a Solar Exalt to bear. Galit was able to fend him off with his martial prowess, and Heavens took to the sky, confident that flight would save him. This stymied Fengrao's plan to Earthwalk out once Laraken had been slain, which she shouted up to Heavens - and the Bull turned the blades on her, determined to keep them from escaping.   He unleashed a barrage of blows, striking at every direction almost simultaneously to give no escape, then brought the purity of the Sun to this moment, blocking any use of Fengrao's power. The Children fought fiercely, however, and with their combined strength, they were able to subdue the Bull, who lowered his blades in a heavy sigh and gave them permission to leave.   Galit did not want to leave such a dangerous enemy alive, and moved to finish him - Yurgen refused to die, however, dashing beyond sight in the instant before the final blow was struck. With Laraken dead and the Bull defeated, the Children slipped beneath the earth to coordinate and organise their next move. They decided to hasten to places of power, seeking a gateway to the Celestial City.   On the final day of the year, they found themselves atop a mountainous plateau, and found the gateway they sought - the sign of Mercury subtly inscribed over a crevice formed by two boulders. Slipping between the stones, they found themselves in the gateways of Heaven, where awaiting all visitors were nine oversized marble lions. One of them tracked over to the trio and pronounced them 'too early' for the Carnival of Meeting, and bade them return where they came from until the appointed time.
