Session 4 Report - Bureacracy Is A Skill In Exalted

General Summary

The Children sorted out their invitations and worked out who was going where, and when. Galit had an important state meeting with Peleps Haru that night, and would have to miss the meeting with House Nellens.   Transport was arranged for the Children to head to the Nellens meeting, although the driver of the coach had not been informed that this would be a sprint for the entire distance. Meanwhile, Haru had fueled his Sea-bound anima when meeting with Galit, to enhance his appearance. He also attempted to poison Galit with a flask of firedust-laced wine.   The Nellens manse was much tamer in comparison to the Imperial City, and the meal they shared with the Dragon-Blooded Abran and patrician Kairu was much less ostentatious than those shared in the capital. Although it started in good spirits, it quickly went south as Kairu rapidly discerned that the Children were not interested in adopting into his House.   On the return trip, the Children discussed their options and possibilities for advancement within the Dynasty. They agreed to at least see to the rest of the meetings, if nothing else.   The next morning, Kai'hua and Fengrao departed north on the Great Coast Road to Qishi Manse in the north. Galit and Thrudd were both required to leave the Cathak manse, as they accepted adoptions to Peleps and Ragara, respectively. While Thrudd was provided with fine accomodation in a Ragara house, Galit had to find his own.   Heavens met with Ledaal Song for a further study session, where he found that she had pulled Ledaal's records on the deathknights that had recently started plaguing Creation. He also accepted adoption into House Ledaal, in return for education at the Heptagram.   Two days later, on the 18th of Descending Wood, Kai'hua and Fengrao arrived at Qishi Manse, where they met with V'Neef and her granddaughter Aliset in the middle of a geomantic garden. They discussed a number of subjects, and Fengrao agreed to join the House. Kai'hua was as yet undecided, pending meetings with Houses Cynis, Sesus and Tepet.
