Session 3, City breath Report

General Summary

As the party returned from the Pegasus Electrics powerplant, they were given a chance to breathe, even if this for some meant to start up the evening's work.
As the group, minus Ryan who stayed in the car to take a small nap and have some packed lunch, Dumitru and Ara got to work booting up all the systems, getting the neon lights glowing, and the music starting to thump, even if Dumitru was meet with a slightly unsettling observation, as he saw his hand shake ever so slightly when using the monitors, though he was able to hold back the urges still. withdrawal was certainly starting to set in.
In spite of the slight unsettling shiver, Dumitru took to serving drinks from behind the bar, making small talk with Andrew about the establishment, and on the scavengers request, getting him a glass of tequila, a drink the man had not tasted much before, and which soon proved to have quite the effect on the lad, making him near drunk by the first glass, and while the club began to see activity, nothing much beyond the normal, but an above-average showing nonetheless, Andrew was quickly in on a second glass.
While the man from the wastes was making sure to get wasted in a new way, Otto Soddov was looking about to spread the good word, finding his targets in a group of four entering individuals, each visibly augmented, one lanky man with an augmented arm, one more stout with the right side of their face set with an eye augment, a third having both legs replaced with sleek running prosthetics, and the fourth having a rather large voice modulator at their throat.
Walking up to them, Otto began to try and spread the word, the man with the voice box looking to be the most suspicious, and even recognizing the outfit worn by the cultist.
Luckily for Otto, the lanky man, introducing himself as "Canvas" (whose voice caught all off guard, and I love it. WHAA!) was more responsive, as well as offering his services of tattoo artistry for the cyborg, who had to regrettably inform him he was unable to receive any in his current state, as he was lead to a stall to sit down and share drinks and chat.
Meanwhile, at the bar, where a properly drunk Andrew, after a glass of cold water, was lead away by Ara to receive his promised massage, while Ryan was having a simple drink, we got a delightful line from the owner of the club

  Meanwhile, upstairs, in the private rooms, Andrew got more than he had bargained for (Cause Femefattal got a crit success) and got a taste for the big city life by a full Ara experience. one which he afterwards got whispered, "this one is on me" which certainly would help his wallet if that was an item he would have use of. (man is real poor)

Beyond these interactions, what's noted down, is that the massive pigeon of Andrew now resides outside of the club, and attracted the pats of a passerby, who may or may not now be radiated.
After his little group chat with the augments, Otto wrote a thorough report, potentially TOO in-depth to The Doc.
as well as that Pettle was sent by from The Lotus to pick up part of the stowed away crate Dumitru had in his safe.
when the shift began to come to an end, Dumitru would eventually find himself coming to rest at a couch in the back of the club, where Ara, most likely returned after longer than usual, but still in good time to notice the man fall asleep, stole away the one syringe of Ketamine in Dumitrus possession.

Later that day, Dumitru would wake up to the sound of others chatting about H.O.R.N.Y as Ryan had given it to Ara on her request

"I... trust you."

What Ara proceeded to do, was make a small modification in H.O.R.N.Y, activating a female voice mode, which was met by the gun being its usual self, and utterly abrasive.
One person who was caught off-guard was a morning-after tired Andrew, who still was somewhat unsure of what last night had been, but who proceeded to try and speak with the sentient gun. BIG mistake 
Soon after, Andrew had his memory jogged, as he was first asked by Ara how they had enjoyed last night, but being confused by it, scratching his head with the barrel of his gun, unwisely so, with a finger on the trigger. Soon, the trigger slipped, and there was a click.
Andrew had been lucky, and the gun had jammed. but after putting it back in order, and with Ryan blurting out where he had spent the night, Andrew went red as a tomato, hiding it behind the cowboy hat, though the memory of "mating press" did remind him that he was still lacking a bullet press to renew his ammunition.
(Small note, this might have also flowed in a few different ways, and I can't recall how it did.)
Otto, Ryan, and B, Otto, in particular, did know of a place where the bits of, or maybe if they were lucky even a full-on bullet press might be found, though it did mean going to Gamma. the group nonetheless took it on, Otto making the tactics, on the way, for Ara and B to work together for a "Seduce and stab" where B could hide inside of Ara, and stab when the pants were down. (for reference, GM rules that as staggered, meaning -2d6 for one round, and possibly another -1d6 for the fact that nobody expects the prostitute to have an assassin in her stomach.)
While the others spoke of ass as sin, Ryan chooses to trail behind and called up The Mistress telling her that they had to talk and to meet him in The Afterlife later that day. She agreed and told him to also say hi to Otto.

(Storytellers note, at this point, I heard Otto's player audibly draw breath and go "oh shit, oh shit, oh shit" and it fills me with such joy)

As the group entered Gamma, Ryan and B took the lead, while Otto and Andrew took to looking about for anything that could be scavenged, Otto having intentions to feed it to those who needed, something which Andrew may have not caught up on, as when Ara turned to confront them about it, saying that they could always buy food, Otto made it clear that he had not intended to eat the assembled bits, which, if assembled into separate bits, was a stale day or two old burger, and one burger which was quite thoroughly grimy, spread across four bits of burger. one of which, Andrew was taking a little bit of a taste from, quickly putting it away as the group entered The Urchin Scrap heap,

You have come to a large pile of trash, coming all the way up from Alpha, here you can scavange all kinds of things, which is why it has sprung up a comuntity of the thrown aside, orphaned, or otherwise misfortunate children of gamma around it, in a shanty town of sheetmetal.

Otto noticing briefly that what he had called mold, probably was something else... "You wish it was mold"
Searching for a place to buy parts for the bullet press, the party came upon a small shed, with hung up bits of mechanics, pistons, metal bars, and so on. in it, a young girl, perhaps seven years old, with a brown braid and a scrappy old gown, was told by Otto and Andrew what they were looking for. though while she was getting at looking into what might be needed for a bullet press, another scene erupted at the same time. a scene, which I do best to describe bit by bit.
Otto sought to get some form of sanitizing into Andrews's mouth, this grew into trying to get B to get him to down some hand sanitizer, emptying the poor mans water cantine to fill it with the stuff, while the cowboy held for his ears, to utilizing pure alcohol from Ara which she typically used for cleaning herself, which he used as a mouthwash, eventually, the debate came to the point, where Ara went to get her hands on hand sanitizer and antibiotics, finding such in a pharmacy near a nearby manhole, buying it with a prior clients card.
However, when given these items, Andrew proceeded to down the pills, with the hand sanitizer, wanting to drink more for some reason, lead to the situation, where a group consisting of a gun for hire in a trenchcoat, a nightclub owner with a fairly new-tech augment arm, a smol assassin, a prostitute android in work attire and a transparent raincoat, and a fully dressed member of a cult from The Cathedral of Assension try to stop a cowboy-style raider from the waste from drinking hand sanitizer outside a small parts store in the Urchin scrap heap, echoing through Gamma.
(Needless to say, many laughs were had) (also, want to note that while this went on, Otto had a chance to make small talk that revealed there was another person in the shack, "Tim" in the back room, who the girl gave a bit of burger Otto gave her)
In spite of the situation, the girl was able to put together the bits, minus some drilling, though she was cut off, as well as where the group struggling about hand sanitizer, by a loud, shrill, scream from the scrap heap, which prompted the girl to drop what she was holding, and bolt for the pile.
The Party quickly followed, seeing more kids from all around rush for the heap, some already there, starting to pull and carry things away from a place where the whole pile had concaved. the party quickly set about trying to help, Ara and B getting up with the smallest of the kids at the cave in location, Dumitru setting about helping with the heaviest things, while Ryan took to giving shouts of what he was around the place. meanwhile, Andrew and Otto took about trying to help carry the stuff away.
the results on the die was bad for Otto and Andrew, crit fail on the first, who almost caused a further cave in as a result. thankfully, Ryan was able to help negate this, while on the other hand, there was crit success from B, letting her, with Ara helping, get to where the scream was coming from, and by extending her blade, and plunging it down into the scrap, she could pry stuff aside to make a tunnel for the kid, seeing a pair of terrified eyes look back at her.
The kid in the cave in was unharmed enough to manage to crawl out and throw their arms around the neck of B, almost crying as they had no words to thank with. while Otto sought to preach, only to be shot down by Hatch, the boss of the settlement, saying that teachers should know what they teach.
After all this, there was still however the matter of the bullet press, something the girl who wanted to sell the bits reminded them of. and lead, to a number of wonderful things.

Returning to the store, Otto asked the kid why she was here, she had no mutations after all, and was told that her parents were dead, shot. he pressed further about the voice from the back, who he was told had a mutation in his leg. when asked if he could see him, the girl said she had to ask Tim.
after having checked, she came back and said it was alright, Otto coming to the small back room, together with B, for medical assistance, seeing as the one with medic vocation was currently munching raisins to try and sate his hunger.
what the two found inside, was a small boy, with a leg bloating with tumours, a weak voice speaking out, trying to raise his head to see the people coming in. Otto quickly told him it was alright, he didn't need to get up.
He asked how Tim was, and how long he had been there. he found out that Tim had not been able to walk for a year, that the mutation was ever-growing. and faced with the situation, he pulled back his hood to reveal the metal skeleton bellow, two lights for eyes, getting a gasp from Tim. though as he began to speak, Otto took to the only way out for these kids he knew he could offer, the cult.
While otto began to speak a story to the kid, (a transcript of which Ill love to try and make available) Ara spoke with Dumitru outside.
She told him that she felt bad for the kids, wondering if it wouldn't be possible to bring them to the afterlife, or their apartment. Dumitru agreed that they deserved something more than this, and told her that, sure, they could adopt them.
This prompted Ara to interrupt the story told by Otto, bursting into the back room and telling the two kids they were getting adopted, Otto showing clear signs of relief that he would not need to induct and then try and get these kids out of his cult. and though he spat at the thought of Ara hesitating to say she had a soul

"Why do you hesitate to say you have a soul? my entire religion says that you do. that is herretial to me!"

he still pulled his hood back up when they left, the girl utterly happy about it all, saying she had to tell Hatch, bursting back out, and asking before bolting off "who was it she had talked to" and when Dumitru spoke up, simply giving him a big hug, thanking him for the kindness, and then darting off to find Hatch.
The boss of the yard gave his thanks for getting the two out from the place, agreeing they deserved better. though when told they would one day be back for the rest of them, he laughed.

"Who would then be here for them?"

as the party leaves, Ara planning how to make a new life for these kids, and offering the girl the name "Candace" as she did not have a proper name herself. we leave the sewers, awaiting the later part of the day, where the mistress will come to the club...
