Session 6 "Cave Alone" Report

General Summary

Isaac quickly realizing that the orcs that had dashed into the hold during the battle had been torn apart by what appeared to be a pair of ghouls and quickly seeing the lever to close the gate reacted quickly to seal the portal.  Through some further exploration and finding a key on the Orc leader they find what appears to be a room used for alchemical experimentation and what appeared to be several reports written in a strange language.  Slinger explores the alcove the orc and his guards inhabited and finds what appears to be a sizeable fortune.     Isaac returns to where the party entered the cave system and quickly discovers more undead and attempts to help the rest of the part sneak past to where they hear sounds coming from the porticullis set into the walls of the caverns.  Upon inspection they discover that the iron gate is sizeable and move to investigate further hoping to let anything friendly know they are there.  However much to the chagrin of the party they soon find out that the noises are being made by two large half-ogres.   Gunther attempts to bring the ceiling down but isn't quite able to.  Slinger, Lilyanna, and Rowan open fire at range peppering the two large creatures as Isaac is struck down.  Gunther quickly reacts scooping up the fallen Tiefling and orders for the rest to run.  The other 3 cover his retreat with Slinger dropping a handful of ball bearings to slow the creatures down.  The party quickly makes for the outside with Rowan firing into the half-ogres as the rest run past finally dropping the leading one.     The party reaches the safety of the outside and find that it has grown dark and that the bodies of the orcs are missing.  They find shelter under an outcropping and prepare to rest as much as they can. Isaac taking some of the documents and using comprehend languages finds out an unfortunate truth.....
