Session 2 "Enter The Black Hand Report

General Summary

....As Gunthar walks patrol he is attacked by an unknown force. Raising the alarm the rest of the party awakens to find the camp under attack by a group of Hobgoblins. With the help of Rowan, Slinger, and Taiah they dispatch the foes causing the last to run for his life. As the battle quiets down they discover the ferry captain arguing with the elf from the boat. Both appear to have seen battle as well. There are minor casualties but nothing that isn't easily taken care of. The party discovers that the elf is a member of the council from Drafalls and is returning from Orthon to seek aid against the pirate raids. Taiah walks away from the party due to dislike for Isaac and Rowan's after battle antics. The party tries to remedy the disagreement and she decides to leave on the ferry back to Orthon with the rest agreeing to accompany Brother Gundar on foot to Drafalls.   During the journey Isaac disguises himself as a hobgoblin hoping to help during the watches at night finding quickly it's not necessary. As the group traverses the forest from the landing sight to Drafalls, enjoying the spring air the find two Faerie dragons. The two small creatures are content to watch the party as they travel but are taken aback when they are approached by the travelers. Gunthar speaks to them in draconic to explain that they are friendly. The smaller of the two disappears before the parties eyes as the larger green takes a more defensive stance. The party discovers much like the dragons larger cousins they are fond of shiny objects and accepts the gold the party offers. The two dragons seem taken with Slinger as he approaches and lead him to a small cache offering their aid in the journey. The party says farewell to the dragons as they fly away and continue the trek forward.   Some days later the arrive on the outskirts of Drafalls where the party smells smoke and they move forward quickly to investigate. They soon discover the village has come under siege and bodies lie everywhere with boats burning. Using wits and stealth they approach the gates which have been torn asunder. Moving through the streets Issac, still disguised as a hobgoblin, is assailed by unknown foes. The party quickly discovers the men are a group of guards and their captain who are trying to eliminate remaining threats. Recognizing Brother Gundar they lead the party to the village government cathedral where Brother Gundar is reuinited with 2 of his fellow council members. There they find out about the attack and that a large portion of the villages population has been taken prisoner. Lilyanna inspects some of the bodies in the streets and notices that some are weaing a tabard with a depiction of an old enemy...Cyric. She explains to the party the gravity of the situation and the party agrees to aid in rescuing the prisoners. Brother Gunder and the rest of the council agree to move north to Eilandril the next village up the river and pays the party in advance for their service with gold and supplies. Gunthar sends a message forward with them to his order in hope of further aid.   That night the party is offered chambers for their rest before they start their hunt...but sleep does not come easy to some......

Missions/Quests Completed

The party arrives to find Drafalls sacked and that many of the villagers have been kidnapped by a large force.
