Session 17 "Loose The Dogs of War" Report

General Summary

....Lillyanna waking on a blanket in the council chambers looks to see Gashak next to her asleep and looking peaceful. He soon stirs and they quietly talk about what had occured and touched on the past. Soon after they dress and Gashak speaks with her more about their expedition to Hawold and reaffirms his warning to be safe. As they say a brief goodbye she returns to the Raven's Alliance headquarters to finish preparations.   Meanwhile elsewhere in Faribyr, Gunthar awakens in the home of Sila and quietly gathers his things in order to not awaken the brass dragonborn woman. He slips out and also returns to his home to prepare. Along the way back he runs into Lilyanna and the pair walk back together to gather up the rest of the Raven's Alliance for the journey. Entering the house the awaken Rowan and Isaac as Slinger, who had slept in the grove, returns ready for breakfast. Over breakfast they confirm the plans that they are to travel to Alaca, a port town where the Platinum Order Temple Ship Deismos is docked. From there they will travel by sea to Hawold and begin their search for Rosaria. Gathering their belongings and quickly finishing their breakfast they leave the house where Isaac leave a message letting anyone who comes along that they are going to be gone. Before they leave Faribyr, Ryancy approaches and presents Gunthar with a message to the captain of the Deismos, Manda Quintiusen, with orders for passage for RA. As other members also approach the leaving group, presenting them with gifts for the road, those gathered wish them safe journeys as they exit the gate and proceed on the road.   During the journey Lillyanna and Rowan both work with the raven and ferret, with some difficulty, training them to work with them. On the second day of their journey they come upon a small farming village by the name of Tavia. After speaking with the armed guards who are manning outlying towers they are allowed in with warning not to cause trouble and are given direction to the local inn. As the Raven's Alliance enters they seek food and a bed for the night finding that the dwarven bartender holds a dislike for Slinger and charges him double what she is charging the others. The party expresses their displeasure and two off duty guards who are in the tavern stand up to warn them against causing a ruckus. The party takes their leave with Isaac knocking off plates and Gunthar pulling the sign down. As they are leaving a patrol of guards rush past to investigate the disturbance at the Chipped Cup. The Raven's Alliance make their way into the wilderness and set up camp for the night resting before continuing the next day.   During the 3rd night of camp while Gunthar and Lillyanna are proceeding to watch and after Isaac has made his bed on a nearby boulder a canine creature leading 3 massive hyenas attacks the party's camp. The Raven's Alliance fight hard and come away victorious but bloodied. Quickly healing the members they resume watch and prepare for the next day.   As the Raven's Alliance nears Alaca they smell the scent of salt on the wind and feel the humidity exponentially increase. Shortly after lunch they crest a hill and see the small town of Alaca below with the massive Deismos at port. The Raven's Alliance walk down the hill and prepare for their next part of the journey.....
