Session 27: Trouble in Afterlife

General Summary

After retrieving Raela from the trunk of the car in order to ask her about CO-SINs breakdown, she informed the team about her plan to get to Bruce Skiv. A Night City media personality, Bes Isis, agreed to trade information about Bruce Skiv's schedule for an exclusive to about Raela encounters with the Skiv family. According to Raela, Bes is familiar with the Skiv family and has been tracking there underworld dealings for a long time.   After finishing their meal at the Sansu Yoon, the team decided that they wanted to go look for trouble. After Rogue pointed out that the Afterlife club was around the corner, and near the Night City medical center where Izel was taken.   After Doug pointed out that CO-SIN was still unconscious from his life flashing before his eyes, the team decided to drop him off at the Rusty Tumblers hideout that the team had been using.    While at the the hideout, Mordin extracted a sample of Jackie's blood so that he could work to determine what Jackie was injected with and develop an antidote. Every moment he spent working, Raela was close by watching him with interest, observing the skilled medtech work.   Mordin was able to identify the virus as one that was novel, but attacked the muscular systems of the body. Not being able to develop an antiviral in the immediate future, Mordin crafted a cocktail that would help to slow down the spread, as well as a booster shot that would help temporarily reduce any of the effects caused by the virus.   After creating his drugs, Mordin, Doug and Lady Santiago decided to head for the Night City medical in order to see Izel, while Gene, Rogue, Jackie and Riley made their way toward the Afterlife club.   Mordin entered the hospital by himself where Izel was being kept up on the third floor ICU. Reviewing her charts and looking through the active systems, he was able to determine that while she was being kept alive by the machines that they had again connected to her, she was showing no brain activity. If she was not claimed in two days, the doctors would have to make a decision to keep her on life support or not.   After connecting her to the net, he left the hospital to head for the Afterlife.   While the team sat at the top bar of the Afterlife, they noticed a group of individuals that stood out from the crowd heading for the lower levels. Following them down and approaching them, the group offered them a job that required some heavy iron, but that the specifics couldn't be discussed. While speaking one of the members noticed that the city center riots were on the news as it was reported that Johnny Silverhand had been found dead at the docks.   Shortly after Doug arrived, he was able to determine that the group was wearing unmarked Militech issue body armor, but was unable to get much more information out of the them even after showing him his work issued identification.   Seeing the riots beginning to get out of control with the news of Silverhand's death, the team left to head toward the corporate plaza to try and broadcast the data that they were given by Singletary.   After making their way through the underground transit system station, Gene and Mordin nearly getting shocked to death on an electric barricade, and slipping through a maintenance exit, the team made it to the corpor-plaza park.   Rioters were trying to break into all of the buildings, but seeing the large broadcast antennae on top of the Network 54 building, the crew headed in that direction. Pushing and shoving their way through the crowd, they finally made it to the front of the clashes against a handful of Arasaka security forces, where Jackie tossed a backpack full of C6 on the Saka ant hill.
