Session 25: When it Rains it Pours Concrete

General Summary

Riley worked to try and find a gurney to move Izel's body on, as the crew took note of the damage around the lab.    As the alarm sounded around the room, Rogue and Jackie entered the main lab, Jackie carrying the limp body of Raela who had passed out. Doug continued to work to get Lady Luck out of the test environment that was holding her. Mordin and Gene worked to determine how to disconnect Izel. Using his previous knowledge of medical technology, Mordin was able to determine that removing her from the system she was in would kill her as the machines were controlling her vitals.    While trying to help, Gene discovered that Git.Fakt was being held as an experiment as well. She told him that she didn't remember being taken, but that it was while she was trying to flee the city after her brother was killed by the soul killer. After freeing her, Gene and Mordin went to rejoin the group to determine a plan to get Izel and all of the others out of the lab.   Jackie and Rogue spoke with Dr. Ada, asking him why the alarm was sounding. Ada informed them that the alarm indicated that the project was being terminated and the atomic reactor was now collapsing and would destroy the site. He informed them that as an expert cybernetics doctor and neural scientist that the work he was doing at the site was important to the future of humanity and that his work must be saved as he typed away furiously at the terminal.   As Mordin approached, he demanded the Ada tell him what he had done to Izel. Ada's only response was 'Who?'. In a quiet rage, Mordin raised his sub-machine gun, emptying the clip, and cutting the doctor in half with lead. He then dropped the gun onto the what remained of the corpse as he returned back to Izel.    As the crew decided their next move concrete began to pour out of large vents in the walls, sliding down toward the floor and beginning to pool around the facility. Entering the net, Gene began to look for a way to shutdown the reactor and alarm system. Finding the data and controls systems, Gene downloaded a complete copy of the DNA database that was held in the lab. The control systems were being ravaged and destroyed by a large and fast worm program that had already destroyed all of the reactor and shut down control systems.   Lark busted into the room as the team learned that the destructive procedures couldn't be shut down, but would take long enough for the team to extract Izel. In shock from the site of Dr. Ada's body and the unconscious Raela, the crew had to snap Lark back to reality. After being told about another patient that was about to be implanted. Doug, Lady Santiago, and Lark rushed off deeper into the lab to try and help the other patient while the rest of the crew continued to try and find a way to shutdown the reactor and extricate Izel.   In the NET, Gene sees the image of Izel standing beside Mordin. She tells Gene that they need to go, and begged him not to allow Hector to remove vital connections as he would never forgive himself. She then gave him a large set of data, transferring to his deck.   Doug and Lady Luck destroyed the medical equipment drugging the young Valkyrie Tyche who almost because the lab's next victim while Lark worked to get her disconnected and mobile. Wading through inches of wet concrete the team were finally ready to remove Izel from her constraints, but just before Mordin pulled the plug on the life support systems, Gene stepped in to complete the task.   As the crew made their way up the lab stairs, Lark, Tyche, and Rogue were the first first out the door at the street and quickly ran into a group of armed nomads. As they turned the corner into the street, Rogue recognized what was happening. Sitting at a large table in the middle of the road was Singletary. Her bonds had been cut loose and the streets were lined by nomad soldiers.   Moving to take a seat at the table, Rogue was soon greeted by his friend Hakeem, who informed him that he was brought here by Singletary to negotiate the deal. Singletary laid out her demands as Mordin soon joined them at the table.    She demanded a trade, four of the lab patients for four of the living nomads called to action by Jackie. She also gave the crew a phone that they had to keep on them and answer whenever she called. With cold eyes she told them that if the phone was found somewhere else, that she would have the hunted and killed. She would contact them with information regarding a job that needed to be completed as they worked to take down Shav.    Mordin demanded as part of the negotiation a Trauma Team transport for Izel. In order to accept the agreement, Singletary gave them a data stick and told them they would have to get the information broadcasted along with the other information that they were having broadcast by their friend Silverhand.   As the rest of the crew got to the street and realized that the nomads that were outside the door were not the ones that were here to help, Jackie and Riley made their way back through the concrete filled lab to climb up the elevator shaft and back out through the Ragetiki. Inside the bar, multiple members of the Metacorp nomad group were moving around checking for any living survivors. As the duo made their way back toward the Cerebus, they subdued one of the soldiers before taking the car back out the front door hole that Jackie had made when entering.   As they slowly made their way around the corner to where the rest of the crew were, they could see as the Metacorp soldiers were preparing to leave, not seeing any of the other nomads that Jackie had left upstairs to secure the area.   While the team waited for the Metacorp nomads to clear out, and the Trauma Team to arrive, Mordin began compressions on the lifeless Izel.
