A Rat's Tail - Session 2 Report

General Summary

Player Characters: Brothers Rorik & Revan, and the bard Persephone Potts The players fight the mimic in the room found in the sewers. The have took the letter with the "ram's skull with a spear through it" that they believe to somehow be associated with a group, perhaps formal or informal, of Red Plume Legionnaires. Persephone took the rat that led them to the room and they back tracked their way to the vault and to Rizzo and the senator to report what they found. The senator promised a listing of the books taken by the next day and shared with them that a footman had reported to him while they were away that a half-orc named Kaldur had been at the house three days before the theft asking to purchase some of the books in his collection, but was turned away. Additionally, he had also received a note from a friend, Sivon Nekho, that one of his books had been recovered by him and that the party should go get the book and inquire as to its recovery.   The party went to the bookshop, but it was closed and had a note informing them that Sivon had to leave town suddenly and pointed them to the neighboring blacksmith, Saul Steelstriker, who was holding the book for them. The party went to the blacksmith's shop, but found it under assault by a pair for fire snakes. They helped defeat them and then assisted Saul in completing the ritual that he was working on that led to the elementals escaping. They were successful and Saul was very appreciative offering a free crafting of a magic item, provided they could bring him materials. Saul then returned the book titled "The Dragon's Sigil" and shared that it was recovered by a Red Plume Legionnaire by the name of Sorel who found it propping open a sewer grate between the orphanage and a woodshop. The characters did not read the book or return it yet.   Revan and Rorik break off to go to the Rat Trap to track down Kaldur and arrive to find Persephone playing the bar.
