Session 23: Canadian Will-o'-Wisps Report

General Summary

26th Misuthar 836PD Zeke's Lair, under the swamp waters.   The party clean themselves up and tentatively venture forwards into the darkness, lit by a magical light cast upon Ongar's staff. They move forwards a few feet listening for danger, only to be set upon by more than half a dozen Will-o'-Wisps. They mob Roderick as Theia summons Spirit Guardians to ward them off, and once several succumb to the radiant assault of her orbiting forms, the rest flee.   Moving carefully down the path, Gwen becomes fascinated by some mushrooms and identifies them as a variant of Windrush, and harvests them for Theia to make use of their air-aspected properties.   A few minutes later, Roderick, taking point for the team, stops dead in his tracks and asks aloud what the hell the hulking movement is in the darkness. It's an ogre. Jakuki charges. Ceonwulf dashes hastily after him as 2K hugs the wall behind them awaiting a target, but then a lightning bolt lances out from the darkness into the massed ranks of adventurers. Jakuki dives out of the way of the main blast, Roddie absorbs it as best as he can, but Ongar and Theia take the brunt of it in the back ranks and Theia falls twitching to the floor. Staggering forwards, Ongar croaks the incantation for a fireball and blasts not one but two ogres, plus one of the hidden hags in the back of the room.   Ceonwulf turns to survey the damage and rushes to Theia's aid, laying his healing hands upon her and bringing her back from the brink of death.
