Fishery Fun

General Summary

The Tantev Fishery is a three story stone building overlooking a private dock. Workers hustle in and out of the fishery, carrying the days catch, rolling in barrels of salt or repairing nets. The afternoon sun bounces off the bay and into the open window, blinding you. The square office is stifling, not helped at all by the foul fishyness floating in from the floors below. None of this bothers Julian Tantev as he rifles through a filing cabinet. One could almost mistake him for a dwarf, with his long beard, stout build and gruff demeanor. Only his height gives away his human heritage. “Ah! Here it is!” He pulls a contract from the drawer then puts on his spectacles as he crosses to his desk. “Just basic liability stuff. ‘Tantev Fishery is not responsible for any injury, disease or death.’ You agree to not accept partial payment then run off like that blasted bard.”
As Julian passes out the liability forms, Eshma confuses and frightens the man by asking if the form covers the ghosts of anyone who dies on the premises. He does not hand her the form. Due to the keen eyes and quick tongue of Luke the party leaves the foreman's office with two healing potions!  

Storeroom #4

 
The stairs down to the storerooms are narrow, forcing you to march down one by one. Sunlight seeps in between the planks of the hatch above, providing the room with an uneven light. Compared to Mr. Tantev’s office storeroom #4 is comfortably cool. The smell of fish on the other hand is much stronger. Shelves filled with fishing supplies line the walls, while barrels of salted fish are stacked between stone pillars. Two barrels are smashed apart in the center of the room, piles of fish amidst the wreckage. In the eastern wall at about knee height is a hole.
Luke beelines it to the shelves and finds a hooded lantern half filled with oil. Astara casts detect magic and senses nothing out of the ordinary. Rezog searches the broken barrels and finds nothing but fish and mud. Eshma sticks her head in the hole.   ROLL INTIATIVE   Luke instantly lights the lantern and flings it into the hole. Eshma tries not to get her face bitten off so she king fu's a rat and leaps back. Ogg flings some fire while Astara slings some star light. Before long the rats are dead!  

In the Hole

Ogg uses his kineses to snuff the flames that are filling the hole so the party can squeeze their way through. Astara casts light. The party then slowly make their way down a cliff, (tying a rope so they can make a quick exit if need be.    They make their way into a chamber filled with webs, which they opt to set fire to. The giant spider that spun those webs isn't a fan of that and attacks. Astara lances it with star light while Luke finishes the beast off with a well placed critical shot.   The chamber is filled with smoke and flame but the cavern ahead is filled with mystery. What has been stealing from the fishery? Where does this cavern lead to? What happened to Ez?   Find out next session!
