Throughout Iberrios’ history many tales have been told about ancient horrors, savage monsters, and cataclysmic tragedies, other stories laud the rise of heroes, inexplicable feats of bravery, and great acts of selflessness. However, there are certain chronicles that do not make it into the history books, accounts that have been lost in the annals of history. This is one of those tales. Back in 1442 PreFacturing(or PF) deep in the frigid reaches of northern Iberrios lies what was once known as the Ghwimmidon Mountain Range. A grand mountain range spanning the width of the continent making for an impenetrable barrier of snow, ice, rock, and steep elevations that separates the northern frontier simply known as The Wilds from the rest of civilization to the more hospitable south.   Over the last millennia the Ice Dwarves, also known as the Iddrians, have called this vast landform home and have been acting as gatekeepers for this barrier. However, as recently as a few centuries ago as a product of shifting tectonic plates in the Great Continental Divide, a narrow channel was carved through the mountainous landscape. This created opening was named the Yonogan Pass, named after the leader of the first humans stationed at Genesis Keep. For centuries, this fortress of stone boasting walls (25ft in height, and 10 ft thick) has held strong without much opposition, so much so that the once bustling fortification which is thought to be the last line of defense between the denizens of the Northern Wilds and Civilization to the south has now been reduced to a skeleton crew of about 30 - 45 trained soldiers. This regiment is known as the Last Bastion, and about 50 civilians keep the base operational. The only reason it hasn’t been abandoned is because of an agreement between the Iddrians and the Human Kings of the South called the Yonagon Pact. In continuing the mutual collaboration between both races, the Humans would continue to maintain the keep and keep it fully functional.
